Nike’s latest release is a rehashed version of an iconic silhouette that first made its debut in the ’80s. The Nike Dunk Low GS Hot Curry comes dressed in a Sail, University Red, Hot Curry, and Game Royal color scheme. The shoe is made of genuine leather and has mesh tongues and lining. Gradient Swooshes atop a White midsole and Red rubber outsole completes the design.
For those unfamiliar, the Nike Dunk made its debut in 1985 as a college basketball shoe. The sneaker was designed to be lighter than its predecessor, the Nike Terminator, and featured a full-length Air sole unit for maximum comfort. The silhouette quickly gained popularity off the court as well, becoming a staple in the skateboarding community. In recent years, Nike has been capitalizing on the nostalgia surrounding it by releasing numerous redesigned versions of the sneaker. As with the other “Edit to Amplify” models, the Dunk Low GS “Hot Curry” is a modern take on a classic silhouette. The colors are eye-catching and sure to turn heads when worn. The leather and mesh construction adds a level of sophistication and refinement. And the white midsole/red outsole combo is always classic and clean.

Dunk Low GS Hot Curry: Resale Value

Observations
The table gives us a breakdown of the current resale value of the shoe by size sold, as well as the current earnings/losses associated with each size. According to the data, 25% of the sales resulted in losses ( sizes 3.5 and 4). 38% led to profit margins under $10 ( sizes 4.5, 5 and 6), and the remaining 37% resulted in earnings from $10 to $20 ( sizes 5.5, 6.5 and 7). What can we conclude about this shoe?
Conclusion
I will not recommend reselling sizes 3.5 and 4 as they lead to substantial losses up to 51% below the retail price. This should raise our eyebrows, how is it possible that folks are actually selling this shoe on third party marketplaces this low, when it hasn’t even officially released yet. I also wouldn’t recommend selling the other sizes as you can expect the current margins to drop by 1% to 5% when the shoe releases officially. Buyers win again this time since they will probably be able to acquire a pair right around retail or even under ( for smaller sizes). But this is a shoe to consider as a long-term investment; I wouldn’t be surprised if they reach $150 or higher in a year’s time. Stay tuned for more updates; I’ll be monitoring it in the coming weeks to offer you a more accurate long-term pricing forecast.
