Since my schedule is about to be extremely complex within the next 24 hours, I wanted to quickly share a post on how to identify the fake Air Jordan 13 Flint Grey. This is a very popular sneaker and several counterfeit pairs have hit the market so you’ll do well in checking out this side by side comparison courtesy of the authentication GURU. Areas we’ll focus on will include the sides, back, tongue, toe, insole, outsole and box. So grab your shoes and let’s get started.
How To Tell If Your 2026 Air Jordan 13 Flint Grey is Fake?
Side

- Heel Collar/Tab Thickness:Â The collar at the top of the fake is considerably more padded and puffed up, producing a thicker, rounder roll. The authentic collar is flatter and more streamlined. ( red circles)
- Heel Shape: The real heel has a more aggressive forward slant, creating a sharper diagonal profile from the collar toward the hologram area. The fake heel is more upright and less dramatically angled, giving the rear quarter a different overall silhouette.( see red lines)

- Grey Suede: The grey suede/nubuck section on the fake pair is noticeably darker. The authentic pair uses a lighter, softer-looking Flint Grey, particularly noticeable along the midsole and hologram panel.
- Blue Woven Upper: The woven/mesh overlay also differs. The fake has a slightly darker navy appearance, while the authentic pair looks a little lighter. The contrast between the blue upper and grey section is consequently stronger on the real pair.
Back Comparison

- Grey Color: The grey suede/nubuck is clearly different. The fake has a darker, slightly more saturated grey, while the authentic pair has a lighter Flint Grey appearance, see yellow arrows and yellow squares in the next picture.
- Overall Rear Shape( overscaling): The fake Jordan 13 Flint looks slightly oversized and bulkier through the rear section. It has a broader, more inflated appearance, whereas the authentic pair looks somewhat narrower and more refined.

Most noticeably, the blue heel tab is much thicker and more puffed up on the fake, and its material has a different, more pronounced texture. Finally, the navy borders surrounding the woven overlays are thicker on the counterfeit, while the authentic pair features slimmer, cleaner edges( see red arrows).
Tongue

The tongue reveals several additional discrepancies. Despite both pairs being size 12, the perforations aren’t distributed the same way; the authentic pair has a larger gap between the upper row of holes and the edge of the tongue, see red dashes. There is also a noticeable color difference, with the real pair featuring a clean, bright white tongue and laces, while the fake has a warmer off-white tint. Finally, the embroidered Jumpman on the authentic pair uses a deeper, more saturated Carolina Blue, whereas the fake logo appears paler and more washed out, see red circles.
Toe

The holes aren’t distributed or exposed in the same positions. On the fake pair, the first set of perforations is clearly visible beneath the lower lace, while on the authentic pair, no holes are exposed in the corresponding area, they either begin farther up or are concealed beneath the laces. Either way, the visible perforation layout is clearly different between the two pairs.
Insole

The authentic pair uses a deeper, darker shade of blue, while the fake insole appears lighter and more washed out. The Jumpman logos don’t match either, the fake uses a brighter, more turquoise shade of blue, while the authentic logo is slightly deeper and more saturated. More importantly, the Jumpman print on the fake shows visible rippling and unevenness, whereas the logo on the authentic insole has a smoother, cleaner finish.
Outsole

The grey rubber is slightly darker on the authentic pair, while the counterfeit uses a noticeably lighter shade, see red rectangles. The carbon-fiber plate also differs: the real pair features a deeper, darker navy-blue plate with more defined contrasting dots, whereas the fake has a lighter, more muted blue appearance, see yellow box.
Box

- Size & proportions: The fake box is noticeably narrower and slightly shorter, while the authentic box has a broader, more substantial footprint.
- Color: the fake has a warmer, slightly cream/off-white tone, whereas the authentic box has a cleaner, cooler bright-white appearance.
- Surface finish / reflectiveness: The authentic box appears to have a smoother, more uniform semi-gloss finish. Light spreads more evenly across its surface. The fake has a less uniform sheen, with more obvious glare and changes in reflectivity across the lid.
