Welcome to another edition of the Legit Check! A few days ago, I showed you how to authenticate both the SB Dunk Powerpuff Girls Buttercup and Bubbles. Today we’ll quickly learn how to spot the Fake Nike SB Dunk Powerpuff Girls Blossom, the third pair in the collection. We’ll be relying on another side by side comparison video courtesy of Real Vs Fake Official via Youtube. Here are the most relevant areas to focus on: the sides, tongue, insoles, box and labels, outsole and more. So grab your shoes and let’s get started!
How To Tell If Your Nike SB Dunk Powerpuff Girls Blossom Is Fake
TONGUE
First, the fake pair’s tongue tab is longer than the real’s, see yellow line. Second the tab is of a deeper shade of pink, it is pretty obvious when you take a close look at both. The gap between the “blossom” text and the edge of the tab is bigger on the fakes, see yellow rectangle. And if zero in on the Nike Sb text, you’ll notice that the outline is slightly darker on the fakes, see yellow arrow.
The power text is very legible on the authentic pair’s tongue but barely recognizable on the fakes, see yellow rectangles. The yellow dash shows you how the heel liner is slightly thicker (more padded) on the legitimate pair.
Behind the tongue, you’ll see that the graphic is of a darker tone, is placed much higher on the fakes. Also the fake tongue label is much longer, see yellow vertical line. and the yellow arrow shows how the graphic is also slightly bigger with wider edges on the replica pair.
SIDE
There is a very subtle difference in the colors, if you pay close attention, you’ll notice how the authentic pair comes in a deeper, darker shade of pink. Also see how the swoosh logo is closer to the midsole on the legit pair, see yellow dashes. And the yellow arrow points out how the leather cut is slightly thicker on the fakes.
LACES: Fake Nike SB Powerpuff Girls blossom
On the replica pair, the extra pair of laces are tied to the left pair with a plastic wire, while on the real pair, the extra laces are directly tied to the original orange laces of the right pair.
INSOLES
Zero in on the figures and the arrow, you’ll see that the depth of the colors aren’t the same between both insoles.
No comments needed here, you can easily spot the differences.
OUTSOLE
The Nike SB wording is slightly of a larger font and much cleaner on the legitimate pair. And the area enclosing the text has a much grainier surface on the real pair as well.
Packaging
The Fake box has more vivid lines on it, a sign of inferior materials used to make it. And the Nike SB text and logo come in a much lighter shade of grey on the fakes.
The fake box says ” Nike SB dunk low” while the real box displays the name ” Nike SB dunk low pro QS”, see red arrows. The 10 and 11.5 have no dash at their bottoms on the real label but do on the fake label, see yellow circle. And even though both shoes are size 10’s the UPC codes are not the same, see red rectangle.
Tissue PAPER
On the authentic pair, you’ll notice that the “Nike sb” text is more prominent, with larger and bolder letters. Take a look at the red circles for reference. Another noticeable difference is the width of the purple band, which is significantly wider on the genuine pair. The red arrows indicate this variation. Additionally, if you zoom in on the eyebrows, you’ll observe that they are noticeably thicker on the authentic pair. Lastly, it’s worth mentioning that the graphics on the fake tissue paper appear to be more faded compared to the genuine version.
