Welcome to another edition of the Legit Check! A few days ago, I showed you how to authenticate the SB Dunk Powerpuff Girls Bubbles. And Today we’ll quickly learn how to spot the Fake Nike SB Dunk Powerpuff Girls Buttercup. We’ll be relying on another side by side comparison video courtesy of Real Vs Fake Official via Youtube. Here are the most relevant areas to focus on: the sides, the back, tongue, box, outsole and more. So grab your shoes and let’s get started!
How To Tell If Your Nike SB Dunk Powerpuff Girls Buttercup Is Fake
SIDE
The red arrows show you how the edges of the swoosh logo and overlays are fluorescent on the fake pair but light green on the real one. The yellow arrows highlight how the heel liner is thicker ( more padded on the authentic pair). And if you zero in on the red rectangle, you’ll notice how there are visible slits on the outsole of the authentic pair that are barely noticeable on the fake.
TONGUE
The Nike SB logo and text come in much larger font on the authentic pair, see red circle. And if you zero in on the Buttercup wording , not only is it blacker on the fake pair, but the letters come in a smaller font and are less spaced out as opposed to how it is on the legitimate pair. And you’ll also notice how the gap between the Buttercup text and the edge of the heel tab is wider on the fakes. By the way, the fake tab is also wider than the real pair’s tab.
The red line confirms that the heel liner is more padded on the authentic pair.
On the back of the tongue, notice how the logo is closer to the double stitching on the real pair, see red dash. And the yellow arrow shows how the double stitching is visible on the legit pair but subtle on the fake. And the red arrow shows how the references come in a more legible lighter tone on the real pair.
BACK: Fake Nike Dunk SB Powerpuff Girls Buttercup
INSOLE
The small red circles show you how the graphics are larger on the legit pair’s insoles. And the red arrow shows you how the colors are also deeper on the real insole.
No comments needed here, the differences are quite obvious.
OUTSOLE
The outsole of the real pair has a slightly lighter shade of green and if you zero in its mid section, the are enclosing the Nike SB logo is slightly more rugged on the legit pair, see yellow squares.
Tissue PAPER
On the authentic pair, you’ll notice that the “Nike sb” text is more prominent, with larger and bolder letters. Take a look at the red circles for reference. Another noticeable difference is the width of the purple band, which is significantly wider on the genuine pair. The red arrows indicate this variation. Additionally, if you zoom in on the eyebrows, you’ll observe that they are noticeably thicker on the authentic pair. Lastly, it’s worth mentioning that the graphics on the fake tissue paper appear to be more faded compared to the genuine version.
BOX
The fake box says ” Nike SB dunk low” while the real box displays the name ” Nike SB dunk low pro QS”, see red arrows. The 10 and 11.5 have no dash at their bottoms on the real label but do on the fake label, see yellow circle. And even though both shoes are size 10’s the upc codes are not the same, see red rectangle.
