The reality that Kobe Bryant is no longer with us can still feel surreal at times. However, Nike continues to honor his legacy. His signature shoes have taken on a new level of significance for both basketball enthusiasts and sneaker collectors alike. About two weeks ago, we witnessed the surprise release of the Nike Kobe 6 Protro Reverse Grinch. This sneaker is set to have a broader yet limited release in the next couple of days.
Drawing inspiration from its predecessor, the Kobe 6 Grinch, the shoe serves as a festive tribute for Christmas. It sports a dynamic color palette of Bright Crimson, Black, and Electric Green. In a brilliant twist, the colors of the original “Grinch” Kobe 6s are inverted, resulting in a striking Crimson snakeskin-textured upper, highlighted by chic Black Swooshes. The design is further enhanced with Electric Green touches on the laces and trademark Kobe branding on the tongues. The shoe’s aesthetic is perfectly completed with a sturdy Bright Crimson rubber sole. If you’re interested in picking up a pair, refer to the details below.

Kobe 6 Reverse Grinch : Resale Value

The chart above gives us a summary of the average sale price of the shoe since December the 13th, 2023. As you can see prices went from $340 to $351 ( an $11 increase) within a 24 hour span. For more details, let’s see what the five number summary reveals,
Minimum: 271
Quartile Q1: 306
Median: 340
Quartile Q3: 417
Maximum: 499
The lowest sale recorded was $271 ( size 8) while the highest was $499 for a size 13. About 1/4 of the shoes sold between $271 and $306 ( see next chart for sizes), while half of them sold between $306 and $417. The highest sales made about 25% of the shoes and were between $417 to $499. The most frequent sale recorded was $306.
There were no outliers and the overall average resale value was $355 with a 15% volatility ( slightly above normal). At $356, you’re looking at a +$121 profit margin, a 60% mark up ( 4 times above average), this is certainly good news. Now there are sizes that more lucrative than others, see chart below

About 36% of the sales generated profit margins between $50 and $100 ( sizes 6,7,8,8.5 and 9). 21% led to earnings between $100 and $130 ( sizes 10, 9.5 and 7.5). Another 21% led to profits between $160 and $190 * sizes 10.5, 11 and 14). And sizes 11.5,12 and 13 generated the most money with $203,$204 and $235 in returns respectively.
Obviously every single pair sold led to a 25% mark up or more ( that’s already significantly above average). But if you’re looking to capitalize on this pair, your aim ought to be sizes 11 and above, they lead to mark ups of 116% ( almost 8 times above average). The Kobe 6 Reverse Grinch is probably one of the best if not the best shoe to resell during the holidays.
