Welcome back to another episode of Legit check, today we’ll quickly learn how to spot and identify the Fake Nike Kobe 6 Reverse Grinch. This is a shoe that is highly coveted and counterfeiters wasted no time in creating replicas. I was able to concoct a list of the key differences you should focus on courtesy of Jacob Marcellus’ video. The areas of our focus will include the back, the toe, sides, outsole and the we’ll also see what the black light test reveals.
How to Tell If Your Nike Kobe 6 Reverse Grinch Is Fake

The authentic pair has a slightly more vibrant outsole, you can clearly see that the scales are more visible on the legit pair, see blue square. The blue circle show you how the area highlighted comes in a darker tone. The blue arrow shows you how the red insert comes in a much different shade of red on the fake pair, it almost blends in with the rest of the outsole on the legit pair. And finally the yellow arrow shows you how the Kobe logo has more of a yellow/ fluorescent tone on the fake Kobe 6 Reverse Grinch pair.
What The Black Light Test Reveals
The green rectangles clearly show you how that portion of the midsole turns purple under the black light on the authentic pair, but remains the same on the fakes. The green circles point out how the scales are more vivid and pop out more on the legit pair while being more subtle on the Fake Nike Kobe 6 Reverse Grinch. The Nike zoom text is more legible on the real pair under the black light, see yellow rectangle. And the gap between the tip of the swoosh logo and heel liner is wider on the authentic pair, see yellow dash.

The fake pair’s label comes with the wrong shoe name, it says Kobe IV on the replica pair and Kobe VI Protro on the real pair. Moreover, the color code is also totally different on the fakes, it says Black/ Red on the fakes but “Bright Crimson/ black” on the real pair’s label, see yellow rectangle and arrow.
The fake box is a bit ashy, comes with lines and no scales on its surface, see red circle.

As I was doing some more research, I came across some other tips you can use to authenticate the Kobe 6 Reverse Grinch.
TONGUE
The area around the tongue and its extension is wider on the fake pair, see yellow lines.
If you zero on on the tongue, you’ll notice how the mesh knitting is distinguishable on the real pair.
If you zero in on the spacing on the Kobe logo, you’ll notice how the spacing between its elements is wider on the fake pair, see arrow.
A good look at the back of the tongue shows that it is much wider on the fake pair.
SCALES
Notice how on the real pair, the snake scales are slightly more plumped ( chubby).
PAINT ON SWOOSH LOGO
The swoosh logo is supposed to look as if it was spray painted, if you zero in on its edges on the real pair, they do have that effect, but on the fake it is too clean.
