The Adidas Yeezy 450 Sulfur will release officially on May the 7th and retails for $200. The shoe is a combination of Kanye West’s design and Adidas’ innovative technologies. The upper is made from Primeknit material and provides a sock-like fit. It also has an internal corset system that gives you extra support when needed. The outsole is made from and EVA foam exoskeleton sole that expands onto the upper. It is certainly a very comfortable shoe to wear, but a significant number of people looking to purchase a pair are attempting to resell it. If that’s the case for you, I strongly advise you to reconsider; just because a shoe bears the name Yeezy doesn’t make it a cash cow. And I’ll show you my proof very shortly. The chart above gives us a breakdown of the average sale price since April 25,2022. As you can see, the price has dropped significantly and very rapidly. The lost about $17 per day and the current resale value is $204, which leads to a -$26 loss. If you are not convinced that this shoe is a poor investment, let’s see what the five number summary reveals.
Minimum: 150

The lowest sale recorded was $150 ( for a size 6 on 5/6/22). That is 35.6% below the retail price, absolutely horrendous. The highest sale was $700 ( on April 25th for a size 11.5). But don’t let this fool you. The size 11.5 has since gone down to $235, leading to a profit margin of +$2. 25% of the shoes sold for prices from $150 to $207. The majority ( half or 50%) sold for prices from $207 to $282. Most of the sizes that sold for close to $282 came for sizes 12-13.5. Another 25% sold for prices from $282 to $700 but all of these sales occurred before May. And sizes that were in that category now find themselves in the $207-$270 interval. The current resale value based on all the data is $241 leading to a profit margin of +$8. All this has happened when the shoe hasn’t even dropped yet.
