I have been on the record for talking about Nike’s overkill of the Uptempo. And the brand has indeed almost taken the taste out of my mouth as far as my love for this 90’s classic. But as much as I want to crucify Nike for this, I can’t help but admire the brand’s genius when they finally do something right. I was completely flabbergasted in a good way when I came across the Nike GT Hustle 2 All-Star Uptempo. The way Nike was able to revive the Uptempo through another completely different silhouette was pure genius and admirable; now that’s how you pay tribute to a shoe.
The way they blended the Uptempo on the GT Hustle was seamless; it was as if the Uptempo received a makeover. There was enough in there to recognize the GT Hustle but just equally the same about the Uptempo; the execution was perfect.
