Approximately ten days ago, I visited my local House of Hoops and stumbled upon the Air Jordan 1 Mid SE in Vivid Orange. This shoe has a unique feature that immediately caught my eye – an unusually thick tongue, reminiscent of the Nike SB Dunk Low. This design is typically functional for skateboarders, so it’s interesting to see it on a Jordan 1. But with Nike, one can always expect innovative surprises.
The standout aspect of this sneaker for me is undoubtedly the nubuck leather. It’s smooth to the touch and wraps around most of the shoe, barring the tongue’s extension and lining. The color palette is a striking mix of black, vivid orange, and what appears to be cardinal red on the trims around the panels.
The outsole mirrors the orange theme, contrasting with a white midsole. From the toe tip to the back, you’ll find black overlays interspersed with orange underlays. Perforations dot the toolbox for ventilation, while the mid-section panel is predominantly black, bordered by orange quarter panels. The Wings logo incorporates both black and orange, and the rear features an orange tab with red trimming.
The other side mirrors this design, with a white midsole providing a distinct contrast. The tongue’s extension features mesh material, and the Jumpman logo is rendered in vibrant orange with red accents. The lining, like the tongue, is also quite thick.
Priced at $135, this shoe is a worthwhile addition for anyone, if you’re looking to pick it up, see details below
