Under Armour hasn’t released anything impressive in the Curry line as of late; but I was very drawn to the UA Curry 3 All Star ASW Copper when the first pictures of the shoes emerged. I wrote an article about it on December 8 see Curry 3 Copper. I just found out that these will be the all star edition of the curry 3 and for once I won’t give UA a hard time, I definitely like this colorway.
The shoes are dressed in a black upper with copper detailing all throughout- UA branding comes in copper on the outside of the tongue. The Steph Curry “SC” mini logo also comes in copper on the lateral side adjacent to the toe box. The midsole is also two toned ( copper color near the forefoot and black from the heel to the mid foot). The eyelets are also covered in copper and will house round black laces with copper speckles. The icing on the cake is the 3M reflective feature the shoes are souped up with.
From a functionality standpoint the Curry 3 could easily be given a 9/10 rating. Built with the thread borne technology( intended to facilitate directional changes), they are about 14.5 oz. The anafoam material covers part of the heel and the medial side, and offers the foot much more stability and a cushioned fit on the sides. I tried bending both Curry 2’s & 3’s and the 3 seemed to be more sturdy. You can watch my entire breakdown of the Curry 3 in the video below.
