Nike certainly never ceases to amaze me. Just when I think they’ve exhausted all possible colorways for some of their classic silhouettes, they manage to breathe new life into them in the most ingenious ways.
This morning, I stumbled upon the Nike Air flight Huarache Bordeaux, and it instantly reminded me of the iconic Jordan 7 Bordeaux from 1992. The striking combination of colors adorning the shoe is undeniably reminiscent of that classic pair. Interestingly, the Air Flight Huarache, designed by Eric Lavar and Tinker Hatfield, also debuted in 1992.
As I said, Nike always finds a way to sell their products, even during times of drought. And speaking of the Bordeaux 7, it ranks third in my top 10 sneakers from Jordan Brand. So, when I set eyes on the Huarache this morning, my first thought was, “I’ve got to get my hands on these!” However, I’m not planning to pay full retail for them. Instead, I’ll patiently wait until they hit the sales rack – a certainty in my mind – and then snag a pair.
Now, let’s talk about the shoe itself. It features a Bordeaux and Laser Orange neoprene inner bootie, complemented by Grey leather overlays adorned with airbrush detailing. Additional elements include a Black nubuck ankle flap, laces, and heel cage, accented by Teal touches on the tongue and heel tab. The design is completed by a Grey and Black midsole, along with the signature accented colors underfoot.
