I just received a new pair of Li-Ning Yueying 5 running shoes from the Li-Ning Global Store, and to be honest, I wasn’t expecting much at first. But after a full day wearing them at work (I’m a teacher, on my feet 8 hours straight), these shoes completely changed my mind. Let’s get into my first impressions and how they performed throughout the day.
Initial Observations
Right out of the box, Li-Ning impressed me with their presentation. The Yueying 5 comes in a simple but well-designed cardboard box with branded tags and even shoe trees inside. Small details like that tell me the brand cares about the experience from start to finish.
The colorway I picked up is black with silver accents — clean, understated, and perfect for someone who prefers classic tones. When I saw them online, I didn’t expect them to look this good in person. The build combines mesh textile with TPU overlays around the heel and eyestay for durability and structure.
Even though I usually wear a size 13, I went with a 12 since 13 wasn’t available. Surprisingly, the fit turned out to be just right — true to size with no tight spots, even for my wide feet.

Li-Ning’s Cloud Plus midsole absolutely blew me away. It’s one of the best cushioning systems I’ve tried — not too soft, not too firm, just a perfect middle ground that gives you bounce and comfort without losing responsiveness.

The Yueying 5 has TPU support structures along the midfoot and heel for lateral stability, but I did notice a tiny bit of movement in my foot while walking — not major, but worth mentioning. It could be because I went down half a size, or just my wide-foot anatomy.
Still, the heel counter is strong, and the overall ride feels balanced. For everyday use, stability is solid, though hardcore runners might want to test it for longer runs before making it a race shoe.
Comfort – 10/10
This is where the Li-Ning Yueying 5 really shines. As someone who spends an entire day on his feet teaching, comfort is non-negotiable — and this shoe delivered.
The ankle collar is well-padded, the tongue is flexible, and the insole adds another layer of cushioning that makes the shoe feel like walking on air. After hours of wear, there was no soreness, no hotspots, and no fatigue.
By midday, I caught myself thinking, “I could wear these 24/7.” like my New balance 574 That’s saying a lot.
Traction & Aesthetic
The outsole features deep grooves and traction lines that provide solid grip across different surfaces. Indoors, it felt planted and stable. I haven’t tested it much outdoors yet, but the pattern suggests it’ll hold up well.
Visually, the Yueying 5 nails it. The sleek aerodynamic design, subtle branding, and black-silver colorway make it versatile for both gym wear and casual outfits.
