The Air Jordan 6 Black Infrared released on Saturday and to no surprise, the shoes were flying off retailers shelves, in other words, they are highly coveted by many which means bootleggers are going to feast on them. The fake pair has been out for a couple of months and I was waiting to get my hands on an legitimate pair to do the comparison. When I do these side by side comparisons, I only jot down nuances I’ve observed and try to be as accurate as possible. I’ve refrained from stressing out differences with colors because of lighting might be a factor; so I only point out actual flaws my eyes have spotted.
Both shoes used in the images below are size 10’s.
The replica pair’ heel tab is always exaggerated on the fakes when it comes to the Jordan 6’s ( I’ve added the yellow arrow to show you how bent the tab is on the fakes). The red strip on the tab is also narrow on the fakes ( see yellow rectangle).
The holes on the fakes lack in the white/reflective component ( I didn’t even turn on my flash ). Moreover the holes aren’t co -linear on the replica pair and the spacing between the upper hole and the edge of the pod is smaller on the fakes.
Once again the holes on the left shoe panel have an apparent 3m reflective detail to them ( even when the flash is not turned on). The spacing between the bottom hole and the edge of the panel overlay is smaller on the fake ( see yellow line). In addition the yellow arrow shows you how the the midsection underlay is placed higher on the fake pair ( both shoes are of a size 10).
The air chamber of the real pair appears a little wider and the screen of the unit is about an inch away from the edge of the midsole ( see yellow lines, it’s very subtle). On the fakes, the screen appears adjacent to the edge. Also notice how the bottom of the sole is translucent on the authentic pair ( see yellow rectangle). I also added the yellow arrows to show you how the fake pair tends to have an orange highlight near the heel while the authentic pair is more red.
The heel liner looks more like a chenille patch on the fake pair ( see yellow square). The spacing between the tab and the “Nike” text is smaller on the fake pair. You can clearly see the differences between the red strips on both pairs.
The UPC number isn’t the same between both pairs ( they are supposed to be identical for all size 10’s). The box label appears snow-white on the fakes and off-white on the real pair. There is a gap between the edge of the label and the box lid on the fakes ( see red arrow).
The production date of the fake pair is much earlier and once again the inside label appears snow-white on the fakes. The yellow rectangle shows you all the spotted nuances.
The “Nike Air” logo on the fake pair is glossy, fuller and brighter.
