Welcome back to another edition of legit check, in today’s post we’ll quickly learn how to spot and identify the Fake Nike Kobe 8 Protro Court Purple. I came across a good video comparison courtesy of Real Vs Fake Official and wanted to share my findings with you. We’ll mainly focus on the following areas in this side by side comparison: the back, heel, swoosh logo, toe, insole, outsole and more. So grab your sneakers and let’s get started.
But first, let’s go through our preliminary steps.
How To Tell If Your Nike Kobe 8 Protro Court Purple Is Fake
Smell the shoes ( only if you’ve already made the purchase)
One of the dead giveaway is the smell/odor of the glue uses to construct the replicas. If the glue smell is really strong to the point of irritating your nostrils, then you’ve probably being dealt a counterfeit
Proof of Purchase
Ask for a proof of purchase. Receipt must include details such as provenance, time of purchase, date and any other relevant information. If a seller is reluctant to provide that, I will strongly urge to refrain from following through with the purchase.
BACK

HEEL

Moving on to the heel now, you clearly see how the kobe signature has a bolder print on the Fake Nike Kobe 8 Protro Court Purple pair, see yellow arrow. And once again close in on the perforations on the midsole and you’ll see that they are much larger on the legitimate pair.
SWOOSH

The swoosh logo is placed much higher on the fake pair, see yellow line. And the green dash shows you how the head of the swoosh logo is placed closer to the peak of the midsole on the fake pair. And if you also pay a close attention to the tip of the end of the swoosh logo, it appears rounded on the real pair but more pointy on the fake, see red circle.
ANKLE LINER/ TOE

The ankle liner appears slightly thicker and more elongated on the genuine pair, indicated by the yellow circle on the first picture.. Moreover, the distance between the throat line and the laces is notably wider on the authentic pair, as highlighted by the red and green rectangles (conversely, on the fakes, the laces nearly touch the edge of the throat line).
Additionally, the numbers on the authentic pair exhibit a faded appearance, whereas they appear bolder on the fake counterparts, as observable in the green rectangle.
TONGUE

The Fake Nike Kobe 8 Protro Court Purple pair comes with a longer tongue, but if you look closely at it, you do not see any liner on its edges.
INSOLE

OUTSOLE

The difference is quite obvious, the real pair comes with a lighter shade of purple on its outsole.
Packaging

There are stark differences in the labels; the fake pair’s label lacks women’s sizing information and displays an incorrect shoe name. The scales on the fake box are more pronounced and exhibit an ashy , a common trait in counterfeit items. Lastly, the red circle highlights the subpar craftsmanship evident in the hole.
