I shared a projection post on the Jordan 1 Dark Mocha a couple of days ago, see link below
Today I’ll quickly show you how to avoid the fake pairs that are already on the market. As I always say, prevention is better than reparation. Here are quick ways to spot and identify the fake Air Jordan 1 Dark Mocha. First let’s go through our preliminary checklist.
1. Smell the shoes
One of the dead giveaway is the smell/odor of the glue uses to patch up the shoe. If the glue smell is really strong to the point of irritating your nostrils, then you’ve probably being dealt a fake pair.
2.Proof of Purchase
Ask for a receipt to check out the provenance of the shoe you’re receiving. If you’re buying this shoe from a third party seller, make sure you’re given a copy of the original receipt of the retailer the shoe was purchased from. If the seller cannot provide it, do not follow through with the purchase.
Now let’s look for the flaws I spotted.
There are different grades of fake shoes, on one of the replica I came across the “Nike Air” text on the tongue doesn’t fill the whole tab ( you can see that spacing between the text and the edge of the tab is much higher on the fakes).
The upper edge of the forefoot overlay is rough and has a lot of loose leather sticking out on the fake pair ( see red arrow). Also notice how the crevice on the side is shallower on the replica pair ( see red lines).
The pattern of the area enclosing the “Nike/Swoosh logo” at the outsole is almost non existent on the fake pair ( see yellow circle). You can see how clear, and detailed it is on the authentic pair.
The logo on the insole is plain white on the fake pair but on the authentic it is of a sail color ( not snow white).
On the first pair of fake I came across, the label has the wrong title ( the replica pair includes TS SP). Also notice how bolder and much thicker the font of the letters and numbers are on the fake pair’s label.
On the better fake pair, the font of the letters and numbers is still bolder and much thicker on the replica pair’s label, but there are additional things I want to mention. The “tear up” dots on the MSRP sticker are missing on the fake pair ( see yellow arrow pointing down).
This is a closer picture to show you how the dotted line is missing on the label of the fake Air Jordan 1 Dark Mocha. Also, you’ll see that the spacing between the “MSRP” text and the separation line is much wider on the authentic pair ( see red line). And you’ll also notice how the font is much bolder and thicker on the fake label in contrast to the thinner and more refined font on the authentic label.
You’ll see how good the replica industry is, in the picture above , you can clearly detect how early the first batch of fakes was produced. So you should definitely stay away from anyone whose label has a production date from 01/16/19-04/02/19. Now let’s see happened next.
You can see that on the new batch, they fixed the production date, but there are still things that we can identify i.e. the jumpman’s head is hidden on the real label, the “us” text cannot be seen on the real label, the “XC” is adjacent to the liner’s edge. I took another picture of a different authentic pair’s label to be sure I wasn’t making any errors in judgement, see picture below
You can easily see the differences, zero in on the red circles and lines. Here are additional pictures of the fake mocha 1’s, just to show you how good they are.
