The Air Jordan 4 PSG is officially releasing this Saturday October the 10th and retails for $225. The shoe is apparently limited, I will be writing a projection post on the possible number of pairs made tomorrow, be sure to check out the site around noon. As you all know, most popular Jordan retros get replicated by the bootleg industry and the PSG Jordan 4 isn’t going to be the exception. Fake pairs have been circulating for quite some time and I’ll be showing how to quickly spot the fake Air Jordan 4 PSG pair. These are preventive measures you can use to avoid being taken advantage of.
How To Tell If Your Air Jordan 4 PSG Is Fake
Smell the shoes ( only if you’ve already made the purchase)
One of the dead giveaway is the smell/odor of the glue uses to construct the replicas. If the glue smell is really strong to the point of irritating your nostrils, then you’ve probably being dealt a counterfeit
Proof of Purchase
Ask for a proof of purchase. Receipt must include details such as provenance, time of purchase, date and any other relevant information. If a seller is reluctant to provide that, I will strongly urge to refrain from following through with the purchase.
Ankle Liner
The heel liner isn’t very thick on the fake air Jordan 4 psg , you can clearly see that the gap between the edge of the upper part of the liner and its bottom edge is very narrow ( see yellow lines and arrows).
Air Unit
In the picture above, I put another emphasis on the thickness of the liner, you can clearly see the differences between both pairs. The oval circle shows you how the gap between the air chamber screen and the edge of the midsole is much narrower on the fake air Jordan 4 PSG pair
Tongue
The yellow arrow shows you that the tongue’s liner folds over around the edges of the tongue on the authentic pair, but on the fake pair, there is continuity and no apparent breakage. The yellow circles indicate that the leather material on the outside of the tongue and the side panel has more wrinkles on the authentic pair, it’s almost too smooth on the fakes.
Quarter Panel
Pay attention to the gap between the air unit screen and the edge of the midsole ( much wider on the real pair). And check out the contrast between the leather material between both pairs.
Tongue Liner
This picture shows you the clear breakage between the tongue’s liner and the edge of the tongue ( the liner folds over itself and lands at the edge of the tongue on the real pair).
No comments needed here, the nuances are pretty obvious.
Box
The label of the fake pair is missing the “tear up” dots on the MSRP tag ( see yellow arrow). The jumpman on the fake label has more girth; the font of the letterings and numbers on the fake pair’s label is more bold.
