Also included in this year’s Nike X Doernbecher Freestyle Collection is the Air More Uptempo Doernbecher. I’m eager to see what the shoes will look like. So far, all we know is the colors that make up the entire shoe- blue jay, gym ted and team orange. The uptempo is a 90’s classic but I think Nike has over exploited the shoes by releasing way too many unappealing colorways. But the last two iterations that have dropped, the NYC Uptempo and the Uptempo PIP were pretty slick with interesting backstories. Hopefully the Doernbecher will not disappoint, but let’s keep in mind that all the DB sneakers are designed by kids and for a good cause so the aesthetic really doesn’t matter. As soon as images of the shoes are available, I’ll disclose them, so stay tuned.
