Pharrell Williams’s Adidas Hu Holi Powder Dye Collection is officially launching on March the 16th. Even though the Hu NMDs are derivatives of the traditional NMD sneakers, they still have a significant value in the sneaker world. I’m only mentioning this because I’ve been writing about how Adidas so adulterated the NMDs that they’ve depreciated in value, see post below for more details on the topic
At this point the traditional NMDs are on life support; one of the ways Adidas can keep them relevant is through exclusives like the Pharrell Hu’s and other collabs like the recently release Neighborhood X NMD. I go into more details in the post so be sure to check it.
The Adidas Hu Holi Powder Dye collection was inspired by the Hindu festival of colors intended to welcome the new season by celebrating the triumph of good over evil. The collection will include a total of three sneakers. Each shoe is dressed in an unrepeatable/unique upper which makes it very personal ( you get the idea, no two shoes will be alike). This is definitely a brilliant move by Adidas and I think the brand needs to tap into this idea of individuality even more. That’s what consumers want- uniqueness.
The adidas Originals x Pharrell Williams ‘Powder Dye’ capsule will launch at END. on March 16th.
