It’a about darn time, Nike has been on the Edit To Amplify mission since 2018 broke out and every shoe on the brand’s calendar has caused eyes to light up. Veterans in the sneaker game get an adrenaline rush when they hear news of sneakers like the Air Jordan 6 Black Infrared making a return in their OG form ( Nike Air logo on the heel). Right when I came across the news this morning, I took a trip down memory lane and vividly recalled my jealous attitude towards my buddy’s Ahmad who was the only one in my high school rocking the 1991 Jordan 6 Infrared. I grew up in Togo, a small country in West Africa where getting our hands on Jordan sneakers was similar to a camel walking through the eye of a needle. Even though we couldn’t afford the sneakers, simply staring at somebody else’s feet was sufficient to soothe our appetite for the shoe.
The Air Jordan 6 Black infrared last featured the Nike Air Logo at the heel in 2000. So this is probably the best time for Jordan Brand to bring the shoe back. It is certainly coveted by many so I can’t wait to grab a few pairs of these when they drop. They are supposedly scheduled for February of 2019. Stay tuned for further updates.
