If you didn’t get a chance to score a pair of Nike Mag, then these Auto Lacing Nike Hyperadapt 1.0 could be a great substitute for the Mcfly’s. They are the very first self- lacing sneakers commercially produced by Nike. According to Tinker Hatfield, the Hyperadapt were engineered with athletes’ needs in mind : “We’re able to anticipate the needs of athletes because we know them better than anybody. Sometimes, we deliver a reality before others have even begun to imagine it”.
The shoes are equipped with a heel sensor that will automatically trigger the nylon laces to contract when activated. They also feature two buttons on the sides to tighten and loosen the laces as the wearer sees fit. A lot athletes complain about their shoes being too tight, or sometimes too loose, a recurring problem that can negatively affect their performance – so with the new innovation, a precise and consistent personalized lockdown can be adjusted spontaneously. Hatfield said it was an important step, because feet undergo an incredible amount of stress during competitions.
