It makes perfect sense for JB to bring back the Air Jordan 12 Retro Taxi again. Last year, a series of 12’s made their way unto the sneaker scene, the most anticipated being the Flu game 12. The taxi edition was originally introduced in 1996 and was inspired by the Japanese Rising sun flag. They were then released in the legendary Countdown Pack together with the “Bred 11“, and brought back again in 2013.
The shoes come in a white black color combination with metallic gold details on the eyelets. They feature a premium leather upper with synthetic leather overlays on the Snakeskin patterned mudguard. Jordan branding will hit the eyelets, the outside of the tongue ( Jumpman logo). Additional logos are featured on the back tab, the extension of the tongue and plastic tab on the lateral panel. The 12’s were built for performance, MJ won his 5th title during the 1996-1997 NBA season so by that time, JB and its team of designers were producing high performance sneakers. The Air Jordan 12 Retro Taxi is equipped with carbon fiber shanks for torsional rigidity and lightweight purposes; they also feature invisible air units for impact protection. With a padded heel collar and a sturdy heel counter, they will keep your foot locked in and distraction free.
My only problem with the Jordan 12 is the ventilation system; for some reason they don’t promote enough air flow and playing with them on a hot summer day can be very uncomfortable. There is no official release date for these yet but they are supposedly coming as a Quick strike in December. Stay tuned for further updates.
