In this post, we’ll go over some key features and details to look for to spot the Fake Nike SB Air Jordan 4 Pine Green. By following these tips, you can ensure that you’re getting your hands on a genuine pair of sneakers that will last for years to come. First, let’s go through our preliminary steps.
Smell the shoes ( only if you’ve already made the purchase)
One of the dead giveaway is the smell/odor of the glue uses to construct the replicas. If the glue smell is really strong to the point of irritating your nostrils, then you’ve probably being dealt a counterfeit
.Proof of Purchase
Ask for a proof of purchase. Receipt must include details such as provenance, time of purchase, date and any other relevant information. If a seller is reluctant to provide that, I will strongly urge to refrain from following through with the purchase.
The toe box of most fake Jordan 4’s is always bulky, you can clearly see the difference between the curving on the real and the fakes, see yellow arrow. The grey suede overlay is cut higher on the authentic pair, see red lines.
The picture above clearly shows you how much higher the cut is on the legitimate pair. The gap between the edge of the midsole and the suede overlay is wider on the real pair, see red line.
Lateral Side/ Midsole: Real Vs Fake Nike SB Jordan 4 Pine Green
The slit on the midsole is wider on the authentic pair, see yellow circle.
The gap/slit on the midsole is bigger on the real pair, see red circle. The forefoot portion of the outsole is of a lighter shade of brown on the fake Jordan 4 Nike SB Pine Green, see red arrow. And once again, the leather overlay is cut slower on the fakes.
Back: Fake Sb Air Jordan 4 Pine Green
The heel overlay on the authentic pair is slightly higher than on the fakes, as marked by the orange rectangle. The outsole of the real pair is much thicker than the fakes – take a look at the yellow arrow and lines for a comparison. The “SB” logo is much bolder on the authentic pair – notice how the holes on the “B” are smaller on the fakes. Lastly, take a look at the bumps on the back of the heel tab – they should be quite subtle on an original pair, much more vivid on replicas.
Tongue
The font of the word “Flight” is much bolder on the fakes – pay attention to that! The jumpman logo is also noticeably thicker on fake pairs. As for the leather material used on the tongue of an authentic pair – this should be a soft tumble leather if it’s genuine.
Inspect the quality of the materials used – real boxes should look clean and sharp, without any visible lines. If you see some (as highlighted by the red arrows), it might be a dead giveaway that it’s a fake.
There you have it folks, hopefully you’ll be able to spot any fake Nike SB Air Jordan 4 Pine Green with these tips. I’ll update the post as soon I come across more detailed tips to look for, stay tuned and check the post regularly. You can check out our other real vs fake comparisons via the Legit Check page.
UPDATE: 4/4/2023
I was able to watch a video comparison of the shoe and here are some additional details to look for. We’ll start with the boxes
Box Size
The authentic box is slightly wider and higher than the fake box, and if you zero in on the Jumpman and Nike SB logo, it is of a lighter shade of grey on the real pair, see red circles.
Toe Area
I have already mentioned this before, but the picture above confirms my earlier assertion. The fake pair has a bulkier toe, see red arrow and the gum portion of the outsole is of a lighter shade of brown on the real pair, and it is slightly more extended. The suede material is also a bit more hairy on the real pair.
Back Updated
The heel liner is cut much higher on the real pair, see red line. The bumps on the heel tabs are more subtle on the authentic pair, see yellow square. The “SB” text is of a bolder font on the authentic pair, see yellow circle. And the heel portion of the outsole is of a lighter shade of brown on the real pair, see yellow arrows.
Forefoot Caging
The caging opening is much wider on the real pair, and extends further down, see line and arrow pointing down. The edges of the leather overlay are rounded on the real pair, see red arrows.
Insoles
The authentic pair’s insole is glossy while the fakes have a more matte. The “dreamcell” text is clearly more legible on the authentic pair’s insole.
The “Nike SB Air” text has slightly larger fonts on the real pair and is slightly more subtle.
Outsole: Fake Nike SB Jordan 4 Pine Green Black Light
The outsole of the real pair glows under the black light, and you clearly see how it is of a lighter shade of brown, see yellow arrows. The Nike logo is of a lighter shade of red on the fakes but darker on the real pair, see yellow rectangle.
There was another updated fake that Jacob Marcellus shared on his Youtube comparison, it looked better than the first batch’s pair but under the black light, it was horrible. You can clearly see how the waffle eyelets glow, there are plenty of trace marks on it as well, see yellow arrows. You can watch his 30 minutes presentation, see video below. I tried to pick up the main points but if you have time to spare, watch it.
