In today’s edition of our legit check , we’ll learn how to spot and identify the fake air jordan 4 unc university blue. I tried in vain to grab a pair this week via the FLX app and DTLR raffle and at this point, I don’t think I’m going to go after hyped releases. Fortunately I was able to find a nice fellow who allowed me to take pictures of the legitimate pair for this comparison. I also incorporated screenshots from various youtubers to give you a more thorough way to authenticate any pair you may purchase from non retailers. But first, let’s go through our preliminary steps.
1. Smell the shoes ( only if you’ve already made the purchase)
One of the dead giveaway is the smell/odor of the glue uses to construct the replicas. If the glue smell is really strong to the point of irritating your nostrils, then you’ve probably being dealt a counterfeit
2.Proof of Purchase
Ask for a proof of purchase. Receipt must include details such as provenance, time of purchase, date and any other relevant information. If a seller is reluctant to provide that, I will strongly urge to refrain from following through with the purchase.
Now let’s check out the flaws.
The grey on the fake pair is of a lighter shade ( see both red arrows). Moreover the fake jordan 4 unc has less speckles ( see oval circle).
Again, both of these shoes were under the same lighting and you can clearly see how the Fake pair has a lighter shade of grey ( see red arrows). In addition to that, both of the pairs are size 12’s yet the jupman’s foot is almost adjacent to the edge of the heel overlay on the authentic pair ( see red square). The space between the foot and the edge of the overlay is much wider on the fake pair.
Once again zero in on the grey color shade, you’ll notice the differences ( lighter on the fake pair).
Once again, you see here that the blue color on the toe area has s subtle purple tone to it on the authentic pair when submitted to the sun light ( see red arrow).
The difference in the dimension of both boxes is clear ( they are both size 12’s yet the fake box is smaller).
I was able to take pictures of the label of a size 11 and you can clearly see that most fake pairs’ labels do not have the MSRP tear up sticker. Also the jumpman between both labels does not look the same
Even when they do have the MSRP tear up sticker, the “tear dots” are practically missing on the label of the fake pair ( see red arrow). Moreover, the “suggested retail” text has a bolder font on the fake label.
The shoe tree is another big thing to look at, on the fake pair, the markings are very vivid with more depth to them, but on the legit pair, the markings are more subtle. And you’ll also see that the carboard of the legit shoe tree has almost gridlines all over it but the fake shoe tree shows no signs of that.
When you submit the fake pair to the black light, you’ll see dotted lines on the back and portions of the forefoot area. That’s because they use those marks to determine how to outline the shoe. You’ll seldom see these lines on the authentic pair.
There you have it folks, hopefully this enough information to help you identify the fake air jordan 4 unc university blue
