Welcome to another edition of the Legit Check! Today we’ll be discussing how to spot the Fake Air Jordan 4 Red cement. I came across a thorough video via Jacob Marcellus on Youtube that shows most of the flaws on the shoes and wanted to share my findings. . For this comparison, we’ll focus on the sides, the back, tongue, the toe, box and more. So grab your shoes and let’s get started!
But first, let’s go through our preliminary steps.
Smell the shoes ( only if you’ve already made the purchase)
One of the dead giveaway is the smell/odor of the glue uses to construct the replicas. If the glue smell is really strong to the point of irritating your nostrils, then you’ve probably being dealt a counterfeit

Ask for a proof of purchase. Receipt must include details such as provenance, time of purchase, date and any other relevant information. If a seller is reluctant to provide that, I will strongly urge to refrain from following through with the purchase.

Tongue
The authentic pair has a longer and wider tongue, see green lines. And if you pay a close attention to the “Flight” wording, you’ll see that it spreads wider on the legitimate pair.
Back
The Fake pair has more speckles on the back and they are also slightly bigger, see yellow circles.

Insole
The back of the insole of the real pair is more grainy or rugged. Moreover, the wording and references are more subtle on the fakes, see red square. And if you close in on the yellow circle, you’ll clearly see that the mid section square is debossed on the authentic pair but embossed on the fake air Jordan 4 Red cement.
Box
The fake box clearly has lines on its top, see yellow circle. The yellow arrows show you how the red Jumpman do not come in the same color shade between both boxes. They also point out how the “flight” text has a slightly bolder font on the authentic pair.
Once again, you’ll notice horizonal lines on the fake box and a lighter shade.
