There’s a lot of anticipation in the air as the Jordan 4 Infrared is set to drop in the next 24 hours. Congratulations if you were one of the fortunate few who were able to obtain a pair through Nike Early Access! But if you’re like the majority of people and are looking for a pair from third-party sellers, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered. In this post, we’ll show you how to spot and identify fake Air Jordan 4 Infrared so you don’t get taken advantage of. We’ll concentrate on the side panels, netting, back, throat line, box, and other details. Let us begin with some preliminary work.
. Smell the shoes ( only if you’ve already made the purchase)
One of the dead giveaway is the smell/odor of the glue uses to construct the replicas. If the glue smell is really strong to the point of irritating your nostrils, then you’ve probably being dealt a counterfeit
.Proof of Purchase
Ask for a proof of purchase. Receipt must include details such as provenance, time of purchase, date and any other relevant information. If a seller is reluctant to provide that, I will strongly urge to refrain from following through with the purchase.
Throat Line Netting/ Stitching/Tongue Liner
You can clearly see that the netting area adjacent to the throat line is much wider on the fake pair, see yellow rectangle. Moreover, the double stitching is more spaced out on the replicas. And if you zero in on the tongue liner, it is supposed to sit under the tongue, but on the fake pair, it extends further up ( see red arrow).
The picture above gives you a better view of the netting area mentioned. It is wider and higher on the replica pair. And the red arrows show you how much thicker the leather material is around the edges of the fakes.
Side Netting
The netting area on the lateral side is darker on the fake pair, it’s subtle but noticeable.
The yellow arrow shows you how much darker the netting is on the replica pair.
Tongue Tab
There is a red line around the edges of the replica pair’s tongue tab , see yellow arrow.
Tongue Liner
The red liner extends further on the fake pair as mentioned previously , it is supposed to be concealed.
Panel Overlays
The panel overlay is cut a bit higher on the forefoot area of the authentic pair ( see first yellow line). But near the mid section, it is cut a bit higher on the fakes. The heel overlay appears darker on the replica pair, see yellow rectangle.
Back
The ankle liner is much thicker on the legitimate pair, see yellow arrows. The yellow circle shows you how much lighter the double stitching is on the fake Air Jordan 4 Infrared.
Box
The authentic pair is shinier and the speckles appear and disappear on the real box, depending on the angles.
