Welcome to another edition of the Legit Check! Today we’ll be discussing how to spot the Fake Air Jordan 3 Lucky Green. We’ll cover a lot of the details, including the box, the sides, the midsole, hangtag, toe and more. I had to look around for images for the authentic pair as a backdrop. This is more like a preventive post, I’ll update it soon with additional side by side images, for now this one will do. So grab your shoes and let’s get started!
But first, let’s go through our preliminary steps.
Smell the shoes ( only if you’ve already made the purchase)
One of the dead giveaway is the smell/odor of the glue uses to construct the replicas. If the glue smell is really strong to the point of irritating your nostrils, then you’ve probably being dealt a counterfeit
.Proof of Purchase
Ask for a proof of purchase. Receipt must include details such as provenance, time of purchase, date and any other relevant information. If a seller is reluctant to provide that, I will strongly urge to refrain from following through with the purchase.
Side: Fake Air Jordan 1 High Bordeaux
Toe
If there is one area that most counterfeiters have a hard time getting right, it would be the toe box. As you can see on the picture above, the fake pair obviously has a bulkier toe than the real pair, which appears more sleek, see yellow and red arrows.
Quarter Panel & Midsole: Real Vs Fake Jordan 3 Lucky Green
The leather material isn’t supposed to be rough on the panels, it is supposed to be a soft tumbled leather. But if you zero in on the panels of the fake pair, it appears to have more wrinkles, that’s probably because the leather material is of inferior quality and is very sturdy and hard. Another area that is hard to replicate is the air chamber, if you zero in on both pairs, the unit is wider on the real pair. Also the gap between the screen and the edge of the midsole is much wider on the real pair, this is a good area to focus on when it comes to Jordan 3’s.
If you look at the midsole closely, the authentic pair has a slightly darker shade than the fake pair( it is more obscure on the legitimate pair), see red rectangles.
Hang Tag
First, the hang tag is placed on the eyestay of the fake pair but on the upper eyelet on the authentic pair. Second, the beads/ chain is silver/black on the authentic pair but silver/light on the fakes, see red arrow. Moreover the eyelet is supposed to be lucky green, on the fake air Jordan 3 Lucky green pair, it is of a different shade of green.
Back: Fake Jordan 3 Lucky Green
The Jumpman logo and the “AIR” text have bolder fonts on the authentic pair, see red arrows.
Box Label
The differences are quite obvious, the color code is not the same, the fake label says “white light lurry green” because they misspelled the word lucky. The “12” is much smaller on the real pair, the line is missing on the fake label and both the Jumpman and the “Jordan” text are gold on the real pair but black on the fakes.
Inside Tag
If you come across a pair with an inside/size label with a production that similar to the one in the picture above, stay away from it.
There you have it folks, hopefully you’ll be able to spot the fake Jordan 3 Lucky Green with these tips. I’ll update the post as soon I come across more detailed tips to look for, stay tuned and check the post regularly. You can check out our other real vs fake comparisons via the Legit Check page.
