The Jordan 11 Cherry is one of the most popular sneakers out there, and it’s also one of the most counterfeited. So, how can you spot a fake pair? Here are some tips to help you identify the fake Air Jordan 11 Cherry Varsity Red sneakers.
First, let’s go through our preliminary steps, they are very important.
Smell the shoes ( only if you’ve already made the purchase)
One of the dead giveaway is the smell/odor of the glue uses to construct the replicas. If the glue smell is really strong to the point of irritating your nostrils, then you’ve probably being dealt a counterfeit
.Proof of Purchase
Ask for a proof of purchase. Receipt must include details such as provenance, time of purchase, date and any other relevant information. If a seller is reluctant to provide that, I will strongly urge to refrain from following through with the purchase.
How To Spot & Identify The Fake Air Jordan 1 High Lost And Found
Lateral Side: Fake Air Jordan 11 Cherry
The tip of the toe is slanted on the real pair but steep/vertical on the fakes. The Jumpman logo is almost adjacent to the heel tab on the legit pair but a bit further from it on the fakes. Both shoes are size 12’s but you can clearly see that the authentic pair has much bigger box ( this is a recurring thing with most fake Jordan boxes).
Heel Tab
The heel tab is more plush ( puffed up) and pushed out on the legitimate pair, see yellow arrows.
Back
As just mentioned, the heel tab is more plush on the real pair ( see yellow square). The midsole sticks out more at the edges ( on the real pair, see yellow arrows) and the outsole is slightly more translucent on the authentic pair, see yellow circles.
Jumnpman Logo
The difference is obvious, the fake Air Jordan 11 Cherry has a much bigger jumpman logo, as you can see in the pictures. The arms, the thighs and even fingers have more girth on the fake pair.
Toe Cap
This is subtle but the fake toe cap is slightly darker , see yellow circles.
Carbon Fiber Shank: Fake Jordan 11 Cherry
The pattern of the shank is more rounded on the authentic pair, and is also a it shinier and reflective. On the fakes, the pattern is squared and dull.
Insole
The markings on the insole are more legible on the fake pair ( which is actually better).
Box/Label
The Fake pair comes in a smaller box and also with a different shade of grey ( it is very noticeable, see yellow rectangles).
The prints are bolder and much thicker on the fake pair’s label , see yellow arrows and shapes, it’s obvious.
There you have it folks, hopefully you’ll be able to spot any fake Jordan 11 Cherry with these tips. I leaned on Jacob Marcellus’ video for this post as well. I’m sure the fakes will be upgraded but thus far, these are the nuances that were noticed.
UPDATE: 12/15/2022
Toe
This is the latest version that was dropped. As you can see, the toe box on the fake pair is still a bit bulkier, zero in on the arrows.
Outsole
You can clearly see that the fake pair has a darker blue tint, zero in on the circles. The authentic pair’s outsole is more creamy. Also notice how the patent leather material is cut slightly higher on the fakes.
Front
Check out the blue tint on the tip of the toe area, it is of a darker shade of blue on the fake Cherry 11’s.
Insoles: Front & Back
On the back of the insole, you can see that the markings are more subtle on the authentic pair. They are very pronounced on the fakes.
The jumpman logo is already peeling off of the replica pair. This is a common problem with most fake sneakers, that’s because the ink utilized is of cheap quality.
Boxes
The box has been fixed, ( sizes are the same) but the grey color isn’t the same between both pairs.
