Welcome to another edition of the Legit Check! Today we’ll be discussing how to spot the Fake Air Jordan 1 High Union BBS. I came across a thorough video via Jacob Marcellus on Youtube that shows most of the flaws on the shoes and wanted to share my findings. For this comparison, we’ll focus on the sides, the back wings logo, the insoles, shoelaces and more. So grab your shoes and let’s get started!
But first, let’s go through our preliminary steps.
Smell the shoes ( only if you’ve already made the purchase)
One of the dead giveaway is the smell/odor of the glue uses to construct the replicas. If the glue smell is really strong to the point of irritating your nostrils, then you’ve probably being dealt a counterfeit
Proof of Purchase
Ask for a proof of purchase. Receipt must include details such as provenance, time of purchase, date and any other relevant information. If a seller is reluctant to provide that, I will strongly urge to refrain from following through with the purchase.
Sides: Real Vs Fake Air Jordan 1 High Union BBS

Wings Logo

Another key area to zero in on when legit checking a pair of Jordan 1’s is the wings logo. As you can clearly see in the image above, the ball within the logo as well as the feathers and Air Jordan Text have much bolder and thicker lines on the authentic pair, see black arrows, red circle and red arrows. The lines are much thinner on the fakes. And if you also take a close look at the “UN / LA” text, it is of a slightly bolder print on the legit pair.
Back: Fake Jordan 1 High Union BBS

The green arrows show you how the yellow lining on the authentic pair is much thicker thus the appearance of more yellow on it. the stitching across the heel is of a lighter shade of green on the real pair, see red arrows. And the stitching appears hidden on the heel tab on the fake pair, see red rectangle. Also se how the bottom edge of the heel tab on the fake pair is slightly much thicker.
Insoles
The back of the insole of the authentic pair is more sparkly ( shinier) and the markings highlighted by the red circle are of a larger font on the authentic pair.
Shoelaces
The differences here are so clear, the boxes do not have the same color of brown, the “Shoelaces” text is almost illegible on the fake box and the laces themselves are of a darker shade of yellow/gold on the real pair.
Black Light Test
Under the black light, you’ll notice that the wings logo is also camouflaged on the real pair but you can clearly recognize its silhouette on the fakes, see red rectangle. Also the yellow arrows show you how the stitching across the panel is subtle on the real pair but more vivid on the fakes.
Box: Real Vs Fake Jordan 1 Union BBS
The print is slightly darker and much wider on the fake pair’s box.
The hat appears much much darker on the fake box, see yellow circle
No comments needed here, you can clearly see the differences.
There you have it folks, hopefully you’ll be able to spot the Fake Air Jordan 1 High Union BBS with these tips. I’ll update the post as soon I come across more detailed tips to look for, stay tuned and check the post regularly. You can check out our other real vs fake comparisons via the Legit Check page.
