Welcome to another edition of the Legit Check! Today we’ll be discussing how to spot the Fake Air Jordan 1 High Bordeaux. We’ll cover a lot of the details, including the box, the insoles, the colors, the footbed, and more. We’ll lean on Real VS Fake Official’s latest comparison via YT. So grab your shoes and let’s get started! But first, let’s go through our preliminary steps.
Smell the shoes ( only if you’ve already made the purchase)
One of the dead giveaway is the smell/odor of the glue uses to construct the replicas. If the glue smell is really strong to the point of irritating your nostrils, then you’ve probably being dealt a counterfeit
.Proof of Purchase
Ask for a proof of purchase. Receipt must include details such as provenance, time of purchase, date and any other relevant information. If a seller is reluctant to provide that, I will strongly urge to refrain from following through with the purchase.
Side: Fake Air Jordan 1 High Bordeaux
This is one of the best fake Jordan 1’s I’ve come across. But there are still some slight noticeable flaws on it. If you zero in on the heel counter, the fake pair is a bit more slanted near the back, see red line. The heel liner of the legit pair is much thicker, see red arrow. And the yellow arrows point out how the cut on the forefoot overlay isn’t smooth on the fake pair.
Tongue & Label: Fake Jordan 1 Bordeaux
These are areas you’ll have to really focus on to identify counterfeit pair. The wording on the label behind the tongue tag have a more refined font on the real pair. And the gap between the double stitches and the wording is wider on the real pair, on the fakes , the text is pretty much adjacent to the stitching, Also notice the color difference between the labels, it is of a darker shade of maroon on the real pair.
More on the tongue, the gap between the double stitching and the lace hole on the extension of the tongue is much wider on the fake pair, see red line. And the stitches themselves are wider on the fakes as well, see red line.
Back
This is very tough to notice, but the hour glass shape is slightly more noticeable on the authentic pair. The gap between the heel liner and the heel overlay is slightly wider on the legitimate pair, see red line.
You can clearly see the differences between both insoles, the authentic pair features lines on its surface ( see red rectangle). Moreover the Nike Air text is more vibrant on the real pair’s insole, it is pretty evident.
The Nike Air text is of a darker shade of maroon on the fakes and it is made of a cheaper ink, it will peel off as soon as the wearer steps foot in the shoes. You can clearly see that the lines on the insole of the real pair are missing on the fakes. And lastly, the fake insole is snow white while the real pair’s insole is off white.
Looking at the back of the insole, you can clearly see that the white thick lines only go half way on the fakes but 3/4 of the way on the real pair.
Footbed
A white tape is used on the fakes while a yellow tape is used on the real pair. There are two holes that appear on the authentic pair ( and interestingly they slightly wider), while there is only one hole on the fakes, but it appears to be smaller.
Box: Real Vs Fake Jordan 1 High Bordeaux
The fake box is of a lighter shade of black and appears a bit powdery as well. Also notice how the Nike logo comes in a more bold red. The fake label features the sticker price as well, but that is missing on the real pair, see yellow arrow.
Clearly, the authentic box is of a darker shade of black, its nike logo is more vibrant as well, and the fake box is bent and slightly smaller.
