Yesterday I wrote a projection post on the Black & Metallic Gold Jordan 1, see link below
The shoe is highly coveted so replica pairs have already hit the market for months. I tried to secure an authentic pair but failed miserably. I wanted to use it for a side by side comparison with the illegitimate pairs. Fortunately for us, ebay now has the authenticity guaranteed program so I was able to fetch images of authentic pairs and pinned them against their fake counterparts. Here is how to quickly spot and identify the fake air jordan 1 black metallic gold. First let’s go through our preliminaries.
1. Smell the shoes
One of the dead giveaway is the smell/odor of the glue uses to construct the replicas. If the glue smell is really strong to the point of irritating your nostrils, then you’ve probably being dealt a counterfeit
2.Proof of Purchase
Ask for a proof of purchase. Receipt must include details such as provenance, time of purchase, date and any other relevant information. If a seller is reluctant to provide that, i will strongly urge to refrain from following through with the purchase.
Now let’s look at some of the flaws I spotted
You can see how much thicker the wings of the logo are on the fake pair ( zero in on the edges). The lines on the ball are much thicker as well on the replica pair. The “TM” is barely legible, you can clearly see the differences.
The paint job on the fake pair’s wings logo is very subpar ( spotty ). You’ll also notice that there wings logo on the authentic pair has some form of shadow ( see yellow arrows pointing up). The replica doesn’t have that shadow ( see yellow arrows pointing up).
The fake pair’s insole has a black outline around its letterings( see yellow arrows). And you can tell that the ink used on the insole is cheap, as soon as one steps foot in that shoe, it’ll most likely peel off.
The N almost looks like a K on the fake pair, the K has very thin legs on the replica pair and the E also appears crooked.
The spacing between the “1” and the “0” is much bigger on the authentic pair’s label. The “10.5” has a bolder font on the fakes, the “9.5” and 28.5″ also appear a bolder font on the fake label. And then the MADE IN CHINA is in capital letters on the authentic pair but in lower cases on the fake label ( see yellow arrow).
The MSRP sticker has a bolder font on the fake box’s label.
There you have it folks, hopefully with these tips you’ll be able to spot the fake air jordan 1 black metallic gold easily. I’ll update the post if I come across more differences.
