Welcome to this edition of Legit Check! Today, we’re breaking down how to spot a fake Nike polo shirt. At first glance, it’s nearly impossible to tell the difference based on material or quality. The only noticeable giveaways lie in the tags and labels. That’s pretty alarming—when counterfeits match the quality of the real deal, it’s easy to see why some people might not think twice before buying one. Can you blame them?

How To Tell If your Nike Polo Shirt Is Fake
Front Logo
If you look at the front logo, you’ll notice that the spacing between the letters is slightly wider on the fake shirt.
A closer look at the logo shows you how the bottom of the letter “E” is adjacent to the tip of the swoosh logo on the fake shirt but spaced out on the real shirt, see red circle. And a closer look at the letters show you how the spacing between the N, I and K is slightly wider on the replica shirt.
Collar Tags
You can clearly see that the tags are completely different, the legit tag is longer and has absolutely different references on it.
Once again, the real shirt’s tag is longer, see red line. Also the swoosh logo on the counterfeit shirt is missing the ” Nike “text, see red circle.
Inside Label
The fake Nike Polo Shirt comes with a shorter tag with stitching across the swoosh logo, see red lines and arrow.
Shirt Bottom ( label)
The tag is wider and longer on the authentic shirt, see red rectangle. Moreover, the real shirt comes with an additional button that is nowhere to be seen on the fake one, see yellow arrow.
