The chart above gives us a breakdown of the average sale price of the shoe on third party marketplaces , more precisely via StockX in terms of time since August 21,2023. As you can see from the records, prices went from $139 to $144 between 8/21 and 8/22 and back down to $141 on the 23rd. They are probably going to sit within the $130 to $140 interval, but let’s see what the five number summary reveals.
Minimum: 104
Quartile Q1: 131.75
Median: 146
Quartile Q3: 152
Maximum: 188
The lowest sale recorded was $104 for a size 9.5 while the highest sale was $188 for a size 14 ( not surprising , this is a more scarce size to come about). About 25% of the shoes sold between $104 and $132 ( see next chart for sizes). Half of them sold between $132 and $152 and the top 25% sales were between $152 and $188.
$188 was considered an outlier, and the overall average resale value without the outlier was $141 with an 11% volatility ( below normal). At $141, you’re looking at an $11 profit margin, a 9% mark up ( below average). There are certain sizes that might be worth pursuing, see table below.
Observations
Close to 27% of the sales led to losses, that is sizes 6.5,7.5,9.5 and 10. Another 27% leg to earnings under $15 ( sizes 8,8.5 ,11 and 9). 40% generated profit margins between $20 and $30 ( sizes 5,7,10.5,11.5,12 and 23). Size 14 obviously led to the highest margin with a return of $54.
Based on these records, it is safe to say that the best sizes to target are larger sizes 11 and up. They lead to mark ups 17% and above ( 1.13 times above average). If you can get multiple pairs of those, then you’ll surely be a happy camper.
