The chart above gives us a breakdown of the average sale price of the shoe since March 10, 2023. As you can see prices went from $234 to $210 from 3/10 to 3/14, then up to $256 the very next day. They went back down to $230 and $233 from the 16th to the 17th and up to $240 on the 18th. On the 19th, another increase was experienced as the highest average sale price was reached at $280. To further investigate this, let’s find the five number summary.

The lowest sale recorded was $200 for several sizes ( a size 8, 2 size 8.5, a size 9, 9.5 3 size 10.5, and a size 11). 25% of the shoe sold for prices from $200 to $215 ( see next chart for sizes), while half of them sold for prices between $215 and $251. The top 25% sales were between $251 and $399. The highest sale recorded was $399, for two size 16’s. There were four outliers, irregular values ( $319,$358, $399, $399) corresponding to sizes 11,13,16 and 16. With these removed from the data, the resulting average resale value is $232 with an 11% volatility. At this price, you’re looking at a +$20 profit margin, an 11% mark up ( below average). The next chart will show you the current earnings or losses by size sold so you can see if any sizes are worth reselling.
23% of the sales led to losses or no profit ( sizes 8-9). 15% led to earnings under $15 ( sizes 9.5 and 10). 31% generated profits between $20 and $40 ( sizes 10.5-12) while another 15% led to earnings between $40 and $60 ( sizes 13 and 140. Sizes 7 and 16 generated the highest margins $81 and $172 respectively. But I’ll be careful about picking up a size 7 for resale ( only 1 sale was recorded and usually those sizes don’t do too well).
What’s the verdict? The larger the size, the better, if you’re a day trader I’ll only recommend targeting sizes 11 and above, even if they go down after the shoe releases officially, they’ll still leave you with a 5% to 10% mark up.
