The Air Jordan 4 Infrared is a more conservative version of the classic silhouette. The shoe features a mix of Dark Grey, Infrared 23, Black, and Cement Grey, similar to the “Green Glow” release from 2013. The upper is made of tough nubuck and comes in a variety of grey shades. The netting, plastic wings, laces, and molded heel tab are all black, with Infrared accents. The design is completed by a White midsole atop a signature Grey rubber outsole. The Jordan 4 Infrared is certain to please both sneakerheads and casual fans. In this post, we’ll discuss where to buy it, the possible stock numbers and its current resale value.

Now let’s talk about the possible number of pairs that could be produced.
Jordan 4 Infrared: Stock Numbers
- We’ll give Nike about 30% of the entire production
- We’ll ascribe 25% to FTL
- And the remaining retailers will split the rest
We’ll lean on data from past releases to establish our distribution.
Size 7 (1000 pairs), size 7.5 ( 1500), size 8 ( 5000), size 8.5 ( 5240), size 9 ( 7500), size 9.5 (8500), size 10 ( 10,000), size 10.5 ( 10,260), size 11 ( 10,260), size 11.5 (5,000), size 12 ( 9,600), size 12.5 (800), size 13 ( 6,000),size 14 ( 1800), size 15 (800), size 16,17,18( 120 each).
Total= 83,620 and we’ll round it off to 84k
Since we assumed at the outset that these numbers made up about 30% of the total inventory,
Total for USA=(84,000 x 3 )+ (84,000/3)=280,000 pairs, so let say somewhere between 200,000 pairs and 300,000 pairs
Air Jordan 4 Retro Infrared Resale Value
The chart above gives us a breakdown of the average sale price of the shoe since June 13, 2022. The last two or three days prior to the official release date are always very revealing. As you can see the resale value has increased by $3 within a 24 hour period. This is certainly good news for resellers. Most Jordan 4’s have been doing really good on third party marketplaces and the Infrared 4 in my opinion will be one to reckon with. I don’t expect any drop in the current average sale price, you can expect it to lie within the $260 to $300 interval. Let’s find our five number summary for further insights.
Quartile Q1: 255
Quartile Q3: 275
The lowest sale recorded was $240 ( on a size 8.5) while the highest sale was $377 (on a size 10.5). This size is a bit tricky, two pairs were sold for $250 yet another one sold for $324 on June 14th. 25% of the shoes sold for prices from $240 to $255 ( 4 size 8, 6 size 8.5, 1 size 9, 5 size 9.5, a size 10, 2 size 10.5, 2 size 11, a size 11.5, and 4 size 13). Half of the shoes sold for values between $255 and $275 ( a size 7, 2 size 8, 5 size 9, 3 size 9.5, 9 size 10, 8 size 10.5, 9 size 11, 4 size 11.5, 6 size 12, a 12.5,3 size 13 and 4 size 14). Another 25% sold for prices from $275 to $377 ( a size 7, a size 8.5, 1 size 9, 1 size 9.5, 1 size 10, 3 size 10.5, 3 size 11, a 12.5, 6 size 13 and a size 14).
Outliers (315, 321, 322, 324, 377) corresponded to sizes 10.5, 14, 9.5, 10.5 and another 10.5. That’s completely understandable. After removing the outliers, the overall average resale value is $266, resulting in a +$29 profit for a 14 percent markup. That’s not particularly impressive for a pair of Jordan 4, but there are a few reasons for the current relatively low average sale price. For fear of opening a can of worms, I wouldn’t get into it right now. You can expect the current average resale value to rise over time. The chart below shows a breakdown of current earnings per size sold.
Resale Value By Size ( Current earnings)
23 percent of sales result in profit margins of less than $30, while 54 percent result in earnings of $30 to $40. Another 23% leads to a profit of more than $40. While current earnings may not be impressive, don’t be fooled. The Jordan 4 Infrared is an excellent long-term investment option. This is not the shoe for those looking for a quick turnaround. If you’re looking for a good shoe to invest in over time, you should consider purchasing as many pairs as you can, even through third-party marketplaces. I can easily see this shoe reaching $400+ within the next 20 months. I’ll send you a growth equation in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please leave them in the comments section. I do have some questions for you. How do you feel about the colorway? Where do you think this sneaker ranks among other AJ4 releases? Do you believe that they are worth the high price tag?
