Every year without fail, Nike has maintained a tradition of releasing a Valentine’s Day shoe. As we approach February 14th, the brand has once again done it again with the upcoming 2024 Nike Dunk Low Valentine’s Day, exclusively dedicated to the ladies.
The shoe is certainly a delight to the eyes with its simplistic color combination reminiscent of Valentine’s Day colors. It features a white leather base accented with pink suede overlays and dark red Swooshes, and is rounded off with matching insoles, tongue tags, and rubber outsoles. Dunk Low Valentine’s Day: Resale Value

The chart above gives us a breakdown of the average sale price of the shoe since January 27,2024. As you can see, this is a bit promising since prices went from $130 on 1/27 to $139 the very next day. But this could be due to variation in prices due to sizes, so we need to investigate it a bit further, let’s look at the five number summary.
Minimum: 120
Quartile Q1: 128
Median: 131
Quartile Q3: 134
Maximum: 150
The lowest sale recorded was $120, size 6 while the highest sale was $150, size 10.5, that explain the $139 average sale price recorded on the 28th since two of the sales that occurred on 1/28 were $149, and $150 from two size 10.5’s. About 25% of the shoes sold between $120 and $128 ( see next chart for sizes), while half of them sold between $128 and $134 and the top 25% sales were from $134 to $150. There were three outliers, $148, $149 and $150, corresponding to 3 size 10.5’s. With these outliers removed, the overall average resale value is $130 with a 3% volatility. You can expect 95% of the shoes to sell between $122 and $138 leading to an -$11 loss or a +$4 profit. Let’s see what the overall earnings are by size sold.

73% of the sales led losses between $1 and $8 ( sizes 4.5-7,8 and 8.5). 18% generated profit margins under $10, sizes 7.5 and 9. And size 10.5 led to a $14 profit, a 11.4% mark up. None of these margins are impressive. I would not recommend buying this pair for immediate gratification, as you can see that isn’t going to happen. But given the trend above, You can expect prices to climb up to $170 or $180 within a 14 month span which will leave you with earnings between $25 and $35. Larger sizes ought to be your focus i.e. sizes 10 and above for they will fetch the highest revenues.
For buyers, this is somewhat of a win since the current average resale prices are right around 8% to 10% above the MSRP.
