The Nike Dunk Low Tennessee State University Is a Must-Have

Spread the love

Nike has been honoring college basketball programs for years with special edition sneakers and apparel. The latest school to get the treatment is TSU. The school’s colors of black, red, blue, and yellow are prominently featured on the Nike Dunk Low Tennessee State University.

The shoe itself is clad in TSU’s colors of black, red, blue, and yellow, and features the school’s logo on the tongue tags, tiger-printed laces, and tiger-striped insoles. Also featured is “1912” on the heels (the year TSU was founded) and the school’s motto of “Think. Work. Serve.” printed on the inner tongues. As someone who didn’t go to TSU (or any other university with an official Nike collab), I can’t speak to how well these represent the school or its students. But as someone who loves a good pair of sneakers, I can say that these are definitely a head-turner. If you’re looking to pick up a pair, refer to the details below

Stock numbers

nike dunk low tennesse state university stock numbers

As you can see, the number of pairs produced by size is relatively high on common sizes ( 7.5-13). No size 5 will be available now and for sizes 4.5,5.5 and 15 the numbers are low. I will provide you with accurate numbers before the end of the day but for now, let’s stick to the stock levels. Is the shoe worth reselling, let’s find out.

As promised, here are the number of pairs produced by size.

size 4.5 (35), size 5.5 (54), size 6 (42),size 6.5 (18),size 7 (78), size 7.5 (114), size 8 (150), size 8.5 (198), size 9 (239), size 9.5 (252), size 10 (324), size 10.5 (306), size 11 (286), size 11.5 (180), size 12 (126), size 12.5 (77), size 13 (186), size 14 (72), size 15 (18).

Dunk Tennessee State University: Resale Value

There are no sales’ records yet for the shoe, so to come up with a believable projection, we need to see how similar styles performed in the past. The latest college themed dunk low that released lately was the UCLA colorway. Let’s see how it is performing at this point

Dunk Low UCLA Resale Value By Size

As you can see, the trend is slightly positive and the sizes that are performing the best are sizes 6,6.5 and 10.5-13. That is to be expected. Sizes 7-10 are relatively good. The shoe is growing at a rate of $0.36 per day with an average resale value of $145. How is this going to help us project the average resale value of the TSU Dunk Low. The UCLA colorway came in blue and gold, in keeping with the school’s colors. While UCLA students may want it, the general population may not be too fond of Blue and Gold. The TSU on the other hand comes in conservative and likeable colors ( black, red, blue and white) with traces of yellow- that’s already a win. So you can expect prices to be slightly higher and sit within the $165-$180 interval based on the sizes acquired.

At $160 or $180, profit margins will sit within the $20 to $37 , for mark ups between 16% and 29% ( above average). So we can conclude that this is a good shoe to resell. To maximize your earnings, aim for sizes 10 and above or sizes 6,6.5. I’ll update the post with actual data within the next 1 to 7 days. stay tuned.

UPDATE: 10/9/2022

dunk low Tennessee resale value

As promised, I was able to gather some data; so far, 44 pairs have been sold at an average price of $214.94, let’s say $215, which isn’t surprising given the low stock levels. The sell through rate is significantly higher than 40%, which is excellent. This indicates that buyers intend to purchase a pair.

Earnings are approximately +$70 at $215, representing a 52% markup ( 3.5 times above average). The resale value is going to continue to grow with time; I’ll monitor it closely, and give you its growth rate later.

Dunk Low TSU: My Observations

Nike has always been good at marketing its products to different groups of people, and it looks like they’re continuing that trend with this release. Not only will current TSU students and alumni be clamoring to get their hands on a pair (or two), but sneakerheads will also be eager to add these to their collection. And at $120 a pop, they’re definitely not going to break the bank.

All in all, this is a solid release from the Swoosh Brand. The shoes look great and are sure to be popular with a wide range of people. It’ll be interesting to see what other universities they partner with for future releases in this series.
