Just yesterday, my friend Chris informed me via text that Nike was gearing up for a surprise release of the Air Jordan 1 High UNC Toe. Sure enough, around 2pm, I received a notification from the Snkrs app confirming the drop. However, I wasn’t particularly interested in this pair. Even if I had been, it wouldn’t have made much of a difference as the shoes sold out incredibly fast, with botters snapping up every size available — a scenario that was hardly surprising.
As expected, the shoe draws inspiration from the recurrent UNC theme. Adorned in a University Blue, Black, and White color scheme, this iteration of the Air Jordan 1 showcases a white leather base offset by black overlays and swooshes. It also features mesh tongues, lining, and the iconic Wings logo. The standout elements of the design are the University Blue accents on the tongue branding, heels, toe box, and rubber outsole, all set atop a white midsole.
It will drop again as a general release in a couple of weeks, see details below if you’re interested in picking up a pair.

Now let’s see how the shoe is performing on third party marketplaces.
Resale Value: Jordan 1 High UNC Toe
A total of 974 pairs have been sold as of July 7,2023 and the chart above gives us a summary of its average selling price since 7/6/23. Prices went from $271 to $282 within a 24 hour period, let’s see what the five number summary reveals.
Minimum: 221
Quartile Q1: 270
Median: 275
Quartile Q3: 289.25
Maximum: 355
The lowest sale recorded was $221 for a size 7 while the highest was $355 for a size 4.5. About 1/4 of the shoes sold between $221 and $270 ( see next chart for sizes), while 50% of them sold between $270 and $289.25. The top 25% sales were from $289.25 to $355. There were 6 outliers recorded, {$221, $319, $331, $338, $349, $355} and they corresponded to sizes 7,10,14,7,9 and 4.5.
With these disregarded, the overall average resale value is $276 with a 4% volatility ( that’s great news). At $276, you can expect a profit margin of +$60, a 31% mark up ( 2.1 times above average).
Observations
In light of the records above, it’s evident that reselling the Air Jordan 1 High UNC Toe is a no brainer. A significant portion, 37.5%, of the sales generated profits in the range of $40 to $60, that is sizes 6.5, 7, 8, 8.5, 9.5, and 10.5. Half of the sales even fetched profits between $60 and $80, including sizes 7.5, 9, 10, 11, 11.5, 12, 12.5, and 13.
While the volume was low for sizes 14 and 4.5, with only one recorded sale for size 4.5, these sizes yielded the highest profit margins of $110 and $132 respectively. Although the market for these sizes may be smaller, the potential for substantial returns is definitely there. I’ll keep monitoring the shoe and update the post if there are significant changes.
