Introduced in 1985, the Air Jordan 1 quickly became one of the most popular sneakers of all time. Today, it remains an icon in the world of footwear, with new iterations released on a regular basis. The latest version to hit shelves is the Air Jordan 1 High OG Starfish, a nod to the popular Shattered Backboard theme. Here’s a closer look at this must-have sneaker.
The shoe is inspired by Birkin bags and the popular Shattered Backboard theme. It has a Sail base, Orange overlays, and a rubber outsole. Exposed stitching is used throughout, and the collars are black. The Birkin bag is a luxurious handbag made by Hermes. The bag is named after actress Jane Birkin. The bag is made from high quality materials and is very expensive. The Birkin bag has been seen on the arms of many celebrities and is a status symbol. The Shattered Backboard theme on the other hand is one of the most popular themes among sneakerheads. It was inspired by MJ’s famous dunk where he broke the backboard during a game in Italy. The concept has been used on many different sneakers including the Jordan 1, Jordan 31, and Jordan 34.
Both themes come together perfectly in this Women’s exclusive Jordan 1, making it a must-have. If you’re interested in picking up a pair, refer to the details below

Jordan 1 OG Starfish: Resale Value
Observations
The data collected above shows you a summary of the average sale price of the shoe since September the 13th, 2022. The shoe went from $298 to $204( on September 16 ) within a four day period, clearly decreasing very rapidly. Then on the 17th, it reached another high of $252 and went back down to $229 and up to $236. The five number summary will provide us with further details.
Minimum: 171
Quartile Q1: 200
Median: 229.5
Quartile Q3: 268
Maximum: 330
The lowest sale recorded was $171 ( size 6.5) , while the highest sale recorded was $330 (size 11). This is a women’s shoe available in extended sizes, those are obviously going to have a higher resale value. 25% of the shoes sold for prices from $171 to $200 ( 2 size 6.5, a size 7, 4 size 8.5, 4 size 8, and a size 10). 50% sold for prices between $200 and $268 ( the next chart will show those sizes), and the top 25% sold for prices from $268 and $330 (2 size 10, 2 size 1, 3 size 11.5, 3 size 12, a size 7.5, 8, and 2 size 10). There were no outliers, we have a normal distribution.
The overall average sale price of the shoe is $235, leading to a +$32 earning for an 18% mark up ( slightly above average). That’s not bad at all. Now let’s get a clear picture of the best sizes to resell.
The best sizes to target, as shown by the records above, are sizes 9.5-12. They result in margins ranging from $33 to $90, with markups ranging from 18% to 49%. ( 3.5 times above average). When the shoe is officially released, current earnings may drop by up to 10%. But I wouldn’t be surprised if the lowest prices for this shoe start at $280 within the next 14 months; in other words, this is a good long-term investment option.
