The Nike Lebron 8 South beach is making its official return on June the 23rd and retails for $200. I’m sure you’ve heard redundant stories on when it was released and the circumstances surrounding its introduction. Lebron James was probably the most hated athlete at the time the Lebron 8 Pre Heat came unto the sneaker scene. Chris Bosh and King James joined D Wade and the Miami Heat to form one of the most lethal and formidable super team the NBA had ever seen. All these made the Lebron 8 south beach an instant classic. The shoe was so coveted that we began to see so many shoes customized after its colorway. Nike being the marketing genius that it is has decided to recycle this shoe again and today we will attempt to figure out how many pairs could be released and the shoe’s current resale value. First let’s get a list of the stockists getting an inventory. I’ve searched on nike.com and the brand doesn’t seem to be carrying it at all. So far these are the only retailers that I confirmed, and they are all international.
I find it hard to believe that these are the only places that are going to carry the Lebron’s. I’m sure Nike and many more retailers will eventually get it, shipments must be delayed. But I’ll build my assumptions based on the current data.
.There are about 26 sizes available in this shoe
.Each store will carry about 10 pairs per size, which means each store will receiver 260 pairs
.Their online allocation will receive about 1/2 the stores are receiving.
Based on our assumptions,
the total number of pairs currently available = 260 x 7=1820 pairs let say 2000 pairs.
As you can see, this number is extremely low, which leads me to believe that shipments are certainly delayed. The numbers above only reflect the boutiques’ numbers. Since Nike, major and minor retailers have not put the shoe on their calendar we will assume that the overall number of pairs made might be between 2000 and 5000 pairs as of now.
PS: As you all know, I always have to add this disclaimer because every single projection that I make is purely based on assumptions that I have set. It is meant to give you an idea of what to expect, I don’t work any of these brands/retailers I mentioned and have no access to their numbers. I’m only using what is available to create plausible assumptions.
Now let’s talk about the current resale value.
Lebron 8 South Beach Resale Value
The chart above gives you a breakdown of the average resale value of the shoe since Friday, June the 4th. The boundaries are between $414 and $528, but I’m more interested in the numbers from the past three days. We can project that the resale value will sit within the $400 to $450 range. Let’s look at the resale value by size.
You can utilize the chart above to gauge what sizes to aim for, obviously sizes 9.5-12 are fetching the highest margins.
