The only stockist carrying this shoe is going to be Nike so it’s safe to say that the stock numbers will be relatively high via Nike but overall low. We’ll lean on data from past releases to establish the number of pairs allocated for every size. We’ll go with the following distribution
Size 5 (220), size 5.5 (540), size 6 ( 1300), size 6.5 (1500), size 7 (2200), size 7.5 (2200), size 8 (1400), size 8.5 ( 2200), size 9 (1800), size 9.5 (1100), size 10 (1000), size 10.5 (200), size 11(260), size 11.5 (80), size 12 (120).
Total=(220+ 540+ 1300+1500+2200+2200+1400+2200+1800+1100+1000+200+260+80+120) pairs=16,120 pairs
And let say that the total number of pairs produced will be somewhere between 12,500 pairs to 19,000 pairs
Now let’s see how the shoe is performing on third party marketplaces.
There were only two sales recorded for this shoe, that’s a very small sample to determine the resale value. So we’ll use other data to find our estimated average sale price. Let’s first see what consumers are willing to fork out for the shoe.
The chart above gives you a breakdown of the consumers’ bids by size. On average most buyers are willing to pay about $133 for this shoe. Now let’s see what sellers are willing to sell it for.
Obviously the sellers want a lot more than what the buyers are willing to pay. On average the sellers’ asking price is about $279. So to find the average resale value for this shoe, we’ll find the average between the buyers’ bid and the sellers’ asking price.
Projected Resale Value= ($133+$279)/2= $206
At $206, folks are looking at a profit margin of +$82
I do want to mention that of the two sales were recorded, a size 6 sold for $351. While this may sound enticing , I don’t think most sizes are going to exceed $300. To make the maximum profit, I’ll say aim for the larger sizes, 10-12. But any other size will be just as good. I’ll update the post once more data is revealed, mostly for those that are looking for the long term investment.
