It’s no secret that Nike loves a good college-themed sneaker. In the past, we’ve seen releases paying homage to powerhouse programs like UCLA, UNC, and Michigan. More recently, Nike has been on a roll with its Dunk Low line, releasing several clearly defined college-themed sneakers. Now, it looks like the brand is also releasing more subtle college-inspired colorways, case in point the Nike Dunk Low gym red USC.
The shoe comes in a full leather build, featuring a white leather base with Gym Red overlays. The Swooshes, heel tabs, and rubber outsole are also done in Gym Red, giving the shoe a very Trojan-esque look and feel. Golden Yellow branding on the tongues, heels, and insoles complete the design. Even though there’s no school logo on the shoe, it’s clear that Nike is catering to a USC audience with this release.
Although there’s no school logo on this sneaker explicitly indicating that it’s inspired by USC, there’s no mistaking the colors and overall aesthetic of the shoe. For USC students and alumni, this is a great way to show your Trojan pride without being too over-the-top about it. And for those of us who didn’t go to USC (like me), it’s still a dope sneaker to rock nonetheless. Either way, it’s clear that Nike has yet another hit on their hands with this latest release. Dunk Low USC Gym Red: Resale Value
The chart above gives us a summary of the average sale price of the shoe by size, as well as the earnings associated with each. As you can see from the records, 36% of the sales resulted in earnings between $20 and $30 ( sizes 8-10). Another 36% led to profit margins from $30 to $40 ( sizes 10.5-11.5 and size 15). 14% led to earnings between 440 and $50 ( sizes 7 and 13), and sizes 6 and 14 led to $66 each. What is to be concluded about this shoe?
Mark ups are between 21% and 62% ( that is 1.4 to 4. 1 times above average), this is a good shoe to resell. The best sizes to target are larger sizes ( 10.5 and above). This is a shoe with a lot of potential for growth as well, I won’t be surprised if within the next 14 months, the average sale price reaches the $250 mark. I’ll monitor its progress.
