The New Balance 2002R Protection Pack was one of the most coveted releases in recent memory, and it didn’t take long for curious sneakerheads to find their way onto resale sites like eBay and StockX. Of the three colorways that released last year, the Rain Cloud has already nearly tripled its retail price on these websites due almost entirely from demand within collector communities; eager anticipation builds before another collection is set out for purchase once more!

No sales have been recorded just yet, but that won’t prevent us from making a projection on the resale value of the shoe. We’ll just take the average between the sellers’ asking prices and the buyers’ bids. The resulting number will give us an idea about the average sale price of the shoe.
The chart above gives you the average bid per size. As you can see, buyers are willing to pay a little more for larger sizes. Based on the records, the overall average bid is $231. Now let’s see what sellers are asking for.
The sellers are asking in average $896 ( which is pretty ridiculous in my opinion). We can learn one thing from this chart- the stock numbers are going to be low. To come up with a decent number for the resale value of this particular colorway, we’ll find the average between the sellers’ asking price and the buyers’ average bid.
Resale= ($896+ $231)/2= $563.5
But I’ll take this number down to $450 to be on the safe side. The projected profit margin is +$240, a very good one.

We’ll follow the same steps we used for the Mirage Grey edition ( this time I’ll just give you the number). Interestingly, with this colorway, the only data we have is from the buyers. Not even one third party seller has it in stock. The average buyers’ bid is about $212. Since there are no sellers currently carrying the shoe, and because this colorway isn’t very conservative, we’ll set the average seller’s price at $400. Consequently, the resulting projected resale value will be:
Resale= ($400+$212)/2=$306
And the projected profit margin is +$118.
