Air Jordan 4 University Blue CT8527-400, How Many Pairs Possibly Made, Where To Buy & Resell

Sharing is caring!

The Air Jordan 4 University Blue will release officially on April the 28th. I wrote a post this morning on where to buy the shoe, see link below

Where To Buy The Air Jordan 4 UNC University Blue CT8527-400

I also wanted to write a projection on the possible number of pairs made this morning. I was able to find a list of major and minor retailers that were allocated inventory beside Nike.

Major Retailers: Footlocker, Footaction, Champs, Eastbay (online only) , Finishline, JD Sports, Dicks, Hibbett

Minor Retailers: Jimmy Jazz, DTLR/Ruvilla

Boutiques: Afewstore, END, Oqium, Footshop

Our usual next step in the projection is setting up the assumptions. What I usually do is check the FLX app to see how many physical Footlocker, Champs and Footaction stores are allocated. But this time, when I was looking at the app, it seems as if the shoe is only going to be available for purchase online. This is going to make our assumptions extremely hard when it comes to assigning number of pairs per retailer. But I’m going to try something different today.

Assumptions:

  1. Footlocker, Champs, Footaction and Eastbay will receive about 30% of the entire inventory for the USA
  2. Now let’s figure our the sizing distribution and create an approximate number of pairs per size
  3. Footlocker: ( 7.5: 60, 8:250, 9-11: 300, 11.5:60, 12: 200, 13:100, 14-15:60)
  4. Champs ( 7.5:45, 8: 150, 9-11:200, 11.5: 45, 12:100. 13:50. 14-15: 60)
  5. Footaction ( 7.5:45, 8: 150, 9-11:200, 11.5: 45, 12:100. 13:50. 14-15: 60)
  6. Eastbay will receive 1/5 of the inventory FTL, Champs and Footaction are receiving

Numbers:

Footlocker: ( 60 + 250 + (300 x5) + 60 + 200 + 100 + (60 x2) pairs= 2290 pairs

Champs: ( 45+ 150 + (200 x5) + 45+ 100+ 50 + (60 x2))= 1510 pairs

Footaction:( 45+ 150 + (200 x5) + 45+ 100+ 50 + (60 x2))= 1510 pairs

Eastbay = ( 2290 + 1510+1510)/5= 1062 pairs

Total from FTL and its derivatives = (2290+ 1510 x2+ 1062)= 6372 pairs let’s stretch it to 6500 pairs

We assumed that this represented about 30% of the inventory for North America,

Total for North America= (6500) + (6500) + (6500) + (6500/3)= 21,667 pairs and let’s stretch it to 23,000 pairs

We can then conclude that the total number of pairs made of the Jordan 4 UNC will fall within the 23,000 pairs < Global Production < 70,000 pairs

Quick UPDATE: 4/23/2021

I just checked the FLX app today and all footlocker, champs and footaction stores are going to be getting this shoe so this completely changes our numbers. We need to revisit our assumptions, so we’ll go with the following

New Assumptions

  1. Footlocker, Champs, Footaction and Eastbay will receive about 40% of the entire inventory for the USA
  2. Each FTL store receives 18 pairs, HOH location receives 48 pairs, Champs and Footaction will receive 12 pairs per store
  3. FTL, Champs, FTA online will be given 1/3 of the total the physical stores are getting
  4. Eastbay will be given 1/4 of the total FTL, FTA, Champs online are receiving

New Numbers:

Regular footlocker stores: 830 x18= 14940 pairs

HOH locations= 170 x48=8160 pairs

Champs= 547 x 12 6564 pairs

Footaction= 210 x 12=2520 pairs

(FTL + FTA + CH )online= (14940+ 8160+ 6564+ 2520)/3= 10728 pairs

Eastbay= 10728/4= 2682 pairs

Total from FTL and its derivatives in store and online= ( 14940 + 8160=6564+2520+ 10728+ 2682)= 45594 pairs let’s stretch it to 48,000 pairs because of possible errors in my assumptions

We assumed that this represented about 40% of the inventory for North America,

Total for North America= (48,000) + (48,000) + (48,000/2) = 120,000 pairs

We can then conclude that the total number of pairs made of the Jordan 4 UNC will fall within the 120,000 pairs < Global Production < 250,000 pairs

PS: As you all know, I always have to add this disclaimer because every single projection that I make is purely based on assumptions that I have set. It is meant to give you an idea of what to expect, I don’t work any of these brands/retailers I mentioned and have no access to their numbers. I’m only using what is available to create plausible assumptions.

Now let’s talk about the resale value

Air Jordan 4 University Blue Resale Value

The chart above gives you a breakdown of the average resale value of the UNC 4 by day sine April the 14th. The price has been slowly decreasing but don’t look for this shoe to sell for anything below $450. It’s safe to say that average resale value will sit within the $450< Resale vale < $500 based on the size acquired. Let’s also check the resale value by size.

You can pretty much look at the chart above and see what sizes to aim for. I don’t find the need to go into details about sizes to shoot for. The shoe is certainly going to sell out immediately.
