The Air Jordan 3 Midnight Navy is set to officially release on March the 20th and will retail for $190. The shoe features a midnight navy upper with the customary elephant print pattern hitting the heel and the tip of the toe area. Grey can also be spotted on portions of the heel, the tongue, its extension and parts of the eyestay. Many believe that the shoe was inspired by the Georgetown Hoyas colors ( this is all speculation). This morning we’ll talk about the number of pairs possibly made and their current resale value. Usually when it comes to determining the pairs produced, I go through the rigorous work of counting up the retailers, formulating my assumptions and the calculating the numbers. I will not be taking that route today since we were just served the Jordan 3 Cool Grey; I firmly believer that with most General Release sneakers, numbers are fairly similar. For the Cool grey 3, I projected between 200,000 and 400,000 pairs and I’ll do the same with the Midnight Navy 3, so we can conclude that
The number of pairs possibly made of the Jordan 3 Midnight Navy will fall within the 200k, < # total production < 400k
Now let’s talk its current resale value
Air Jordan 3 Midnight Navy Resale
The chart above gives you a breakdown of the resale value of the shoes per day since March the first. You can clearly see that the price shoe has been slowly decreasing since March the 1st. Most general release sneakers tend to lose about 5% to 10% of their resale value from the day they were first available on the resale market. I conducted a study a couple of years ago and came up with that conclusion, see link below
General Release Jordan Retros Resale VS Retail Value | The Implications
Based on the numbers above we conclude that by the time we reach March the 20th, the Jordan 3 Georgetown will have a resale value within the ($270-$290) range. Now this doesn’t mean that certain sizes will have a higher price, let’s also look at the current resale value by size as well as the profit earned by size.
This is a breakdown of the current resale value by size; I’ve also added the profit generated by size. This is what is taking place currently. As I mentioned earlier, the resale value is probably going to decrease by 5% to 10% by the time we reach the official release date. So you can expect all these numbers to drop by 5% to 10%. Since we projected a resale value within the ($270-$290) range, we cam expect our profit margins to fall within the ($45-$65).
