The Air Jordan 13 Starfish will officially release on January the 16th and retails for $190. The colors that make up the uppers were derived from the Jordan Shattered Backboard collection mostly found on the Jordan 1 silhouette. This morning we’ll come up with a plausible estimate of the number of pairs that could be made and the shoe’s current resale value. I usually go through a rigorous step of finding the retailers allocated and inventory, then I set up my assumptions and finally run the numbers. I will not take that route this morning since we were just served the Jordan 13 Black Royal, and I believe the numbers will be fairly similar. I already wrote a projection post on that pair, see link below
So we’ll assume that the number of pairs of the Jordan 13 Starfish possibly made would fall within 125,000 pairs < Number of Possibly Pairs Made< 250,000 pairs
What about the resale value?
The chart above gives you a breakdown of the average resale value of the Jordan 13 Starfish by day. Based on the numbers, the shoe has an average resale value in the $250’s as of now. Thursday had an unusual average peaking at $286 , that’s because of the presence of an outlier ( a size16 sold for $599 and that significantly stretched the average value for January 7). So we’ll stick with a $250 overall average; but since this shoe is a general release, I expect this value to drop by 5% to 15% by the time the shoe releases officially. The resale value will probably fall within the $225 < Resale Value < $240 range. Let’s also look at the resale value by size.
Sizes 7.5, 14 and 16 recorded the highest values ranging from $300 to $600. Most other sizes were consistent with our earlier assessment, in the $250’s. The Jordan 13 Starfish retails for $202 after tax so profit margins will sit within the ($18 to $40) on common sizes.
