Air Jordan 1 Mid Facetasm CU2802-100 | How Many Pairs Possibly Made & Resale Value??

Sharing is caring!

The Air Jordan 1 Mid Facetasm is officially releasing on November the 22nd and was birthed out of a joint work between Japanese brand Facetasm and Nike,

Cutting-edge Japanese label, Facetasm, steps boldly into the light rocking their stylishly retro take on the Air Jordan I. Designer Hiromichi Ochiai continues to solidify his cult status with this collaboration on the OG. Dressed in celestial teal overlays set off with dark obsidian accents on the tongue and swoosh, the look gets the Facetasm treatment with their signature crinkled texture throughout the upper. Add an exaggerated heel tab and the Jumpman logo on the midsole, then watch all the heads turn.

I was asked by several folks on youtube about numbers on the Facetasm Jordan 1 Mid, and this morning I woke up with the goal of projecting how many pairs both brands could’ve made. Nike has certainly concealed its list of retailers/boutiques for this model; I couldn’t find any confirmed retailers beside Nike and Facetasm but came across the information below, see screenshot

Based on the information given on the screenshot above, we can deduct that the following confirmed stores are going to carry the shoes in Japan:

Facetasm, SNKRS (online), Nike Harajuku, Nikelab MA5 and select Nike Jordan Retailers. The hardest part will be to determine the number of additional Jordan retailers in Japan that will get it. Most of the Japanese retailers I’m aware of are usually third party renowned stores so I’ll refrain from adding any other retailers to the list above. What I’ll do is use the information given, lean on several assumptions and then compute my numbers.

The only US retailer that has been confirmed is Nike; Nike EU is also going to be releasing the shoes so let’s create our assumptions and run our numbers. As you can see, we are standing on very shaky grounds.

Assumptions

  1. Facetasm will be given about 1/5 of the entire production for Japan
  2. Nike Japan will receive about 1/5 of the total production while Nike Europe and Nike USA will split the remaining 4/5
  3. I’ll also assign about 500 pairs to Facetasm since the store will be favored

Now let me run the numbers:

Japan’s production in total will be : 500 x5= 2500 pairs

Nike Europe= 2500 x2= 5000

Nike North America= 2500 x2= 5000

Total production based on the assumptions will be :

Grand Total= 2500 + 5000 + 5000= 12,500 pairs

You can change the assumptions yourself and recalculate the numbers if you aren’t satisfied with the results. For example you can assume that

  1. Facetasm will be given about 1/5 of the entire production for Japan
  2. Nike Japan will receive about 1/3 of the total production while Nike Europe and Nike USA will split the remaining 2/3
  3. Assign about 300 pairs to Facetasm and then run the numbers

PS: Like I said in the first paragraph, I’m really standing on shaky grounds because of the lack of information available hence the very implausible assumptions.  Every single projection that I make is purely based on assumptions that I have set. It is meant to give you an idea of what to expect, I don’t work any of these brands/retailers I mentioned and have no access to their numbers. I’m only using what is available to create plausible assumptions.

Market Value

The third party market value of any shoe is a very good indicator on how limited the shoe will be. I collected my data and came up with the results below.

Air Jordan 1 Mid Facetasm CU2802-100 How Many Pairs Possibly Made & Resale Value

So far this is the number of pairs per size that have been sold via third party marketplaces ( all of them combined). Size 8.5 is leading the charge with a total of 5 pairs sold out of the 15 pairs sold. The shoe is certainly scarce and I’m assuming no other retailers beside Nike will be carrying this model. Why am I saying that? Usually for general release sneakers and even limited releases, the number of pairs sold is close to triple digit and even more ( and that’s because some of the pairs being sold were leaked early). So this definitely confirms that Nike might be the only retailer carrying the Air Jordan 1 Mid Facetasm. Now let’s see how the shoe is performing price wise.

Air Jordan 1 Mid Facetasm CU2802-100 resale value 1

Based on the boxplot above, 25% of the shoes sold within the $225 and $261 price range ( and most of the sizes within that interval were isolated sizes, a size 8.5 and 11). 50% of the shoes sold within the $261 to $332 price range ( sizes within that interval were 7.5,8,8.5, 9 and a 10). The remaining 25% of the shoes sold within the $332 and $350 interval ( and sizes sold were a couple of 10.5’s and a size 9). You’ll notice some irregularities with the sizes and their prices especially with the 8.5, 9 and 10). The average resale value if we consider all the entries is $297.33. but I wouldn’t count on this average to evaluate the actual resale value of the shoe because if we take out the last three entries ( $349, $350, $350), we end up with $285 and that’s a more reasonable resale value at this point. I’ll continue to monitor the progress of the value once the Air Jordan 1 Mid Facestasm releases officially, I’m sure there would be some interesting changes so stay tuned and look for the upcoming updates.

Where to Buy It Now

eBay currently has no listings for the AJ1 Mid Facetasm so you are limited to two options as far as the third party market is concerned, see screenshots below
