Air Jordan 1 High OG Silver Toe CD0461-001, How Many Pairs Made, Resell & Where To Buy?

Spread the love

We are right at the beginning of the tax return season so brace yourselves for a outpour of Nike sneakers. The Air Jordan 1 High OG Silver Toe is set to release officially on February the 19th and retails for $170. The shoe is primarily intended for the ladies but it will available in extended sizes. It features a  black, silver and white color combination. It is built with genuine black leather overlays on tip of the toe, the forefoot, the eyestay and upper portions of the heel. the top of the toe and heel feature silver overlays while the mid section comes in white and is leather built as well. Additional features include a black swoosh logo on both the medial and lateral sides, the customary wings logo on the heel strap; more nike branding can be spotted on the outside of the tongue and the sockliner. Today we’ll try to come up with a plausible estimate of the number of pairs made and the shoe’s current resale value. First let’s get a count of the retailers allocated an inventory beside Nike

Major retailers: Footlocker, Footaction, Champs, Finishline, JD Sports, Hibbett

Minor retailers: DTLR/Ruvilla, Shoe City, Shiekh, WSS,

There are several other boutiques that will be getting the shoes as well, you can check for additional stockists. I didn’t include them in the list above because those numbers will not affect our estimates significantly. Now let’s set up our assumptions.

  1. Footlocker, Footaction and Champs will receive about 1/3 of the total inventory
  2. About 1/3 of each of these retailers will be given an inventory, 334 FTL’s, 182 Champs, 70 FTA’s
  3. We’ll give about 18 pairs per regular FTL, 70 per HOH’s, 18 per Champs and 18 per FTA
  4. We’ll give the online allocation 1/3 of the total the physical stores are getting

Now let’s run our numbers:

Regular Footlockers= (334-170) x 18 pairs =2952 pairs

HOH ( house of hoops)= 170 x 70= 11,900 pairs

FTA= 70x 18= 1260 pairs

Champs= 182  x18=3276 pairs

Online allocation (2952+ 11,900+ 1260+ 3276)/3=6463 pairs

Total from Footlocker& derivatives= 25,851 pairs. Since we assumed that this number represented 1/3 of the total inventory for North America, then

the Grand Total= 25,581 x 3= 77,553 pairs and we can conclude that production worldwide would be 77,553 < global production < 160, 000 pairs

PS: As you all know, I always have to add this disclaimer because every single projection that I make is purely based on assumptions that I have set. It is meant to give you an idea of what to expect, I don’t work any of these brands/retailers I mentioned and have no access to their numbers. I’m only using what is available to create plausible assumptions.

Now let’s talk about resale

Women’s Jordan 1 High Silver Toe

Air Jordan 1 High OG Silver Toe CD0461-001 resale value vs size

The chart above gives you a breakdown of the average resale value of the Silver toe 1 by size. You can clearly see that larger sizes ( size 12-15.5) have the highest returns ranging from ($335-$525). Every other size falls within the $260-$280 range and this is pretty much going to be what we can expect for this particular model. The shoe retails for $182 after tax. For larger sizes ( 12-15) folks can expect their profit margins to fall within the ($120-$300) and for other sizes profit margins will fall within the ($50-$70). This is definitely a good shoe to invest in.
