I picked up a pair of the black Adidas NMD R1 PK Gum Pack BY1887 this week end; they are pretty much a premium version of the NMD with the primeknit construction. They wrap around the ankle for a sock like adaptive fit and are probably one of the lightest shoes on the market. The only noticeable update to this model is the gum outsole and that’s pretty much it. I went ahead and picked up a pair of the Black New Balance 247 and to be honest with you, I’d rather have the NB over the NMD.
Check out the my video below for a thorough look at the NMD’s next to the New Balance, I’ve also added side by side pictures for your convenience.
Mesh upper on the New Balance VS premium primeknit construction on the NMD, but for the hot summer days, the mesh is probably a better option for ventilation purposes
Revlite midsole cushioning system on the New Balance ( 10% lighter than Nike lunarfoam cushioning) VS boost technology on the NMD with extra EVA plugs for added comfort. To be honest , I tried both shoes on and they are equally comfortable
If you are interested in purchasing both shoes, they are available for purchase from our Store now see links below
