When I first saw the Nike Air max penny 1 pinstripe on Nike’s PR release, the thought that came to mind was- there we go again with the overkill. Nike has a way of going overboard with concepts that have gained popularity in the sneaker world. The Off-white free spirited theme has influenced a lot of sneakers we’ve been served as of late. And Nike has found a lane there especially by coupling the idea with sneakers of the classic 90’s. The Penny 1 “lil Penny” dropped a few weeks ago and I was a bit disappointed that Nike didn’t include a miniature penny puppet to go with the shoes. While picking up a pair of NMDs in the mall this morning I came face to face with the pinstripe Penny 1 and I have to admit that the shoes look better in person. They come equipped with 3M detailing but one thing I wish Nike would’ve done is reduce the amount “one cent” logos on the panels. Check out the video below giving you a closer a look at the sneaker.
