The Nike Zoom KD 9 Game Royal released on February 1st amidst other notable sneakers. You’ll see a lot of NBA players wearing the KD 9 during games; they are probably one of the best if not the best performance shoe of 2016.
Kickgenius who does a lot of on performance reviews via Youtube highly praised the KD 9 traction system, the cushioning as well as its lockdown fit. But with YT reviewers, you never know if you are getting the naked truth ( especially when they are sponsored by companies). So for the KD 9, I consulted my friend Chris who actually owns a couple of colorways and here is what he had to say
Pros: – Full length zoom is amazing and closer to the ground than Lebron 10 which use to be my fav 3 years ago
– Traction is really good, maybe too good
– The flex groove right under your toe is an excellent addition
– Breathability is decent
Cons: – Hard to put on
– You need to have an L-shape flat foot and not wide
– I find that you have to be playing or moving in them or the foot starts to go numb If you are inactive.
Most basketball players I have come across are looking for these essential elements in a shoe ( traction, cushion, ankle support, breathability and easy fit) and it seems the KD 9 has most of these covered.
